WAWA 2025: For Your Consideration
My submissions for the WorldAnvil Worldbuilding Awards 2025
It's that time of year and the submission process for the WorldAnvil Worldbuilding Awards have opened up. I've done a lot of work on the World of Wizard's Peak in the last five years, even making the finalist lists for my world and articles the past two years. But I have yet to win it! Here are my entries to try and change that!
I'm also including a reading list of some of my favorite entries by other worldbuilders! I'll be adding to the list as I go through the submissions. Please check them out and vote for whomever you like best!
Best World
The World of Wizard's Peak
The world where it happens! I've been up for best world twice in the past and I hope to stick the landing one of these days! Fun fact: I came up with this world in middle school with a vision of an apprentice wizard floating at the top of a mountain. That's why I use the mountain in the world's name!
My Favorite Worlds
Ayun Sovos
They have not officially thrown their hat in the ring, but I'm going to include strixxline's gorgeous and comfy world of Ayun Sovos. Line's worldbuilding Twitch streams are so pleasant and they're building a lovely sub-community in the WA space.
Clarkwoods Literary Universe
When he used to stream, I would to sit with my friend eccbooks for an hour everyday to watch him make art, worldbuild, watch trailers, and shoot the shit. I do miss it, but I'm glad that he's gainfully employed! The CLU is like another home for me. I love the humor, heart, and whimsy that Chris puts into his work.
Alana
I steal borrow from Tillerz's world of Alana whenever I need ideas for slick presentation or cool css. He is a master worldbuilder, mapmaker, and the deity of sheet templates. I'm indebted to him for his help and inspiration!
Isekai
I have admired RiverFang's Isekai for as long as I've been on World Anvil. They've inspired SO much of how I go about my own worldbuilding. I would not be where I am without their inspiration.
Kena'an
Imagica aka Make Lore, Not War is a newcomer who took the WorldEmber 2024 awards by storm this year! I'm late to the party with their world, but I'm SO impressed by the depth and quality of their writing and worldbuilding. If you haven't visited, their world, it's well worth a follow.

I'm super proud of this article and am so glad that it was a finalist in last year's Institutions of Learning challenge. Ultimately, I didn't win, but I feel like its some of my very best work.

Mochi's tour-de-force exploration of a watershed from beginning to end! Complete with maps, history, cultures, and an in-depth look at the river's ecology.
The Great War
An award-winning article from Frod0 that deserves a read and your consideration. It's a sad and familiar tale that we all need to remember.
Hearts & Minds
I love this article and the little shout outs that I was able to give to other worldbuilders. If you want me to include your "gift giver", hit me up before the submission deadline this weekend!

Armor of Apathy
When I first saw this articles almost 4 years ago on World Anvil, I knew that I had found my people. What I didn't realize then was that I'd become such good friends with eccbooks, aka "the Other Chris". I've loved his work ever since and he's one of my favorite people in the community.
Kaharan Bellydancing
Tyrday has made a name for themselves with their unofficial challenges. I've really enjoyed participiating in the 5-part "Longest Journey" challenge they held recently! I'm a sucker for articles about dance and I enjoyed their belly dancing article.
Rise of Nations
A tour of one of the best developed locations in my world. I loved figuring out how the locations interact and what the people were like the further away from the Pit you got!
Articles on the Rise
House of Pentiwichen
Among the worldbuilders that I admire, Dhelian is one of the best. I admire the amount of craft and detail they put into their articles. This article about a royal house is precisely and intentionally structured. I love the epic feel of the world of Lethea and the stories told in it.
Fumayan Resident Alien Dwarves
Scalenex's article on diasporic dwarves almost made my ethnicity shortilst this past WorldEmber and I'm taking the chance to showcase it here. They dive deep on a diasporic culture of dwarves living in a strange land. I see a lot of the same themes in my own world and I appreciate this diffrerent take on it.
Wondrous Nature

I submitted this before taking a good look at it and realized that this article actually needed a lot of work. I've brought it up to my current standards. I'm glad I took some time, now a couple of years after writing it, to visit the Shards again.

Kefkejaco and I started on World Anvil at roughly the same time and I love seeing how their work has progressed alongside of mine. They're always a strong worldbuilder and this article about a cataclysmic battle is no exception.

This may be my players' favorite article in my world! Any time they have a chance to drink some psychic beer and roll on the charts, they take it. What's your favorite effect?

I came up with this creepy dude while stuck on the tarmac on a plane in the snow. My phone had no service, so I typed it all into the notepad and hoped that it would save. I've terrorized my players with him ever since!

I really admire the work that Rin/Those2Nerds has been doing for a few years now. I'm a sucker for in-world media and this is a great example. Love the drawings and the speculation on who the author is./p]
Janoar
I am SO amused by Nincho/NimoridialLibrary's grumpy murderous Santa Claus! I'm always interested in a fun "winter gift-giver" article and this one's a hoot. In the case of Janoar, the nice get gifts and the naughty get dead!
Vakumyr
I look forward to Jontaro's notifications in my inbox because I know I'll shortly be experiencing amazing and colorful original art along with funny and engaging writing. Instead, this spooky article is a monochrome and shadowy exploration of a monster lurking in the woods, luring the unsuspecting to their doom!
Rising From the Depths
CoolG is a new worldbuilder who has already put together an impressive portfolio of work. They're an effervescent presence on the Discord and this article has bubbled up over the rest as my favorite! It's a fun creation myth about a race of water angels. They give me tons of sea monkey vibes from!

Cryptic Map of the Zone
A mystery map of unknown and cryptic origins made by an awesome cartographer!
I have a perfectly lovely commissioned map that I use for formal play, but I love this version from my favorite Ghost Boy of Kirinal that I came up with a few Spooktobers ago. I'm especially proud of the in-world comic covers that I made for it.
