Pit-Blood Species in World of Wizard's Peak | World Anvil

Here in the Concordant Zone, the Kirinal Pit draws members of every ancestry from all the dimensions of the multiverse. We have found that whenever you bring people together, no matter what they look like, they will fall in love, they will make children together, sometimes they do both!

Instructor of Recruits

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I'm a full-blooded orc of Borthakar. But I ain't got nothin' against anyone with some human or genasi or tiefling hiding in the haystacks. As long as you fight for the Concordance and we can get a drink afterwards, you're all right with me!

Sgt. Kill Flayer

The pit-blood of the Kirinal Concordance Zone are the natural result of centuries of cultures and people mixing together at the interdimensional crossroads known as the Kirinal Pit. The "natural" folk of Erathia; humans, elves, dwarves, etc., marry and/or have children with outsiders such as genasi, aasimar, tieflings, etc. Collectively they are referred to as "Pit-Bloods". They are accepted in society as long as they swear allegiance to one of the Concordant Nations and swear to "Bear the Ident-a-hedron".

In the Zone pit-bloods are a comon sight, they are just Kirinalos like everyone else. People in the Zone don't care who your parents were, as long as you're willing to work or fight, you can be one of them.

You would think that we elves would be more concerned with "racial purity", but you'd be wrong. Our numbers were decimated during the Far War. We lost millions of ancient elves with centuries of life in front of them. We can't afford to be so choosy anymore. Was your grandfather a wood elf? Is your great grandmother a drow matriarch? Then you're elf enough for us. We welcome you home!

Other parts of the world are less welcoming. A human/fire genasi hybrid will get a second look in the streets of Ballinamore. A goblin/aasimar might face persecution from the Tyrant of Ta-Arma. More cosmopolitan cities, like those in the Sovranty of Lozar are more inviting, but they find those of mixed ancestry "exotic."

A Multiverse of Experience

The mixing of cultures from across the world and multiple realities has led to an incredible flowering of culture in the Zone. The musical styles of a thousand worlds merge together in the dance clubs of the Silver Gate District in Tower Town. Scholars from across the dimensions come to Tridenser City to study their libraries of holy books gathered from all the Heavens.

Nowhere is this more obvious than in the food culture of Garrison City. Chefs, cooks, and bakers from around the world and all the Prime dimensions come to study in the Culinary Institute of the Zone. Nowhere is this more obvious than when salvagers get together for their meals.

When I worked on the Salvager crews in the Manifest, we stopped at midday no matter what for a meal. We all had paper bags from home.

We'd sit on the deck of our salvage vehicle. We'd put our food in the middle and then we'd share whatever we had. I always had my Lola's pork or chicken adobo.

A fire genasi could always be counted on to bring good curry. Dwarf-kin would bring their mushrom bread. Elf-bloods could be counted on to bring vegetables or meat wrapped in leaves. We feasted like kings from a thousand lands and worlds! Those meals bonded us together like nothing else.

I really like the merging of cultures and the fusion of cuisines.
