Blair
Dagport was just as large as the world of Anchorage, but the traffic which came, and went through the star system was even more chaotic. The Star system might have been the western most border of the Furia section, but it shared that border with the Anchorage, and Bastion Sectors, but more importantly it lay on the Northern Fabian Gateway Network which continued all the way through Anchorage, Boom, and into the Holderness Sector.
It seemed like trade from all over the Furia, and Anchorage sector found their way to Dagport to sell their goods, or make use of the Fabian Gateway. Starships from the United Kaledon Worlds, other even the Salians were in system as they traveled on their way through the gates which were little more than micro wormholes.
System-lord Wallis Wild was a member of the powerful noble family which was likely the second most powerful in the Commonwealth after House Gisking. Unlike his mother, and grandfather though, Lord Wallis Wild was not granted the title of Lord of Furia, though he still remained the most powerful lord in the sector, and de-facto lord, or the very least first lord.
Lord Wallis Wild greeted Blair, and the king much as any lord had. There was a shared kinship between them, but Blair couldn’t for the life of her remember when or how. The families had been linked in the struggles against the Great Savage Host which had nearly destroyed all the Old Blood Kingdoms, and for a time brought them down, only for her husband’s ancestor King Osgar ‘The Great’ to defeat them, and the lay the foundations for the Commonwealth his descendants now ruled.
Lord Wallis Wild had several grown children, he was an elder man himself, although like most people, it was hard to tell. His eldest two, Edwyn, and Edmund greeted them, while his younger two were off in the service of the Commonwealth Forces, and Blair knew that she had in fact met the youngest, Lydia. Lord Wild was also joined by his sister, the System-lord of Seahold, and her youngest daughter Grace.
Blair lost track of most the Wilds she met. There were so many of them. Cousins, nephews, nieces, aunts, and uncles. It seemed like even their staff were made up of kin, if not directly related, there were Wildtooths, Greenwilds, and many more. It must have been the largest family she had encouraged to date, and yet she knew there were more spread out throughout the Commonwealth of Drala as System-lord, Highlords, and other lower tier lords.
Blair could smell the food long before they entered the great hall of the massive estate, and home of Lord Wild on the world of Dagport itself. It seemed like she had an appetite that would not end. She could fill it quickly enough, but it always came back, and Ansel always seemed to have something for her to snack throughout the day, but the smells from the hall made her mouth water, and she couldn’t wait to sit down, and enjoy the freshly made food.
