Magnus
Warwick, the ancient capital world of the Kingdom of Warwick, and still one of the leading systems of the Warwick Sector which made up the old heartlands of that old kingdom within the Dragon’s Head Nebula.
Warwick had suffered heavily from the Great Savage Host which had invaded almost three years ago. The King of Warwick had been forced to flee from that fearsome fleet of the Furse as they pillaged and ransacked worlds throughout their kingdom after they had brought down the Kingdoms of Umbria and Furia.
Magnus couldn’t recall the name of that king, he was a Redmane, he was sure of that, almost all kings of Warwick had been Redmanes, ever since it’s founding thousands of years ago by Gwen Redmane Aegis who had fled the old Kingdom of Screaf during the Thousand Years of Darkness and fall of the Old Ruins in Furse Space to the Skoll. Million of Furse had fled to the Dragon’s Head Nebula, where they had been betrayed, and than conquered the local worlds to create their kingdoms which now made up the Commonwealth.
Warwick was the last of the Old Blood Kingdom’s to fall, at least the last to fall and never rise up again as an independent state. It had continued for a time under some cousin or others as puppets before it vanished completely. Daxholm fell within ten years, and Osgar ‘The Great’ was forced to hide on one small world after the other, but on Mistfall he launched his campagin to reclaim Daxholm and defeated the Great Savage Host.
The world of Warwick, the system itself, like that of the whole sector had only been saved from the Great Savage Host by King Osgar ‘The Great’ himself when he defeated the Great Savage Host at the battle of XXXXX and imposed the peace of XXXXX on them, and created the Furse Law north and east of the North Western Fabian Gateway Route. The lords of the Warwick Sector had all but pledged their loyalty to the King of Daxholm in return for safety. His son had ruled as Lord of Warwick until his death when his first born claimed it, and his grandson finally created the Commonwealth.
The world itself had been an old Fabian world in days gone by, and there were still many structures on the planet that displayed that history.
Magnus took another sip from his cup as he enjoyed the view from his seat in the pub. The captain had finally given them some leave, and put them in parking orbit of the system for a few days of r and r, and everyone was enjoying it. The world of Warwick had recovered since I’s downfall almost three hundred years ago, and almost a billion and half called it home, making it the fourth most populous world in the sector that Magnus knew of.
Warwick was only one of two habitable worlds in the system though, with another two minor worlds habited, along with a massive shipyard complex, and defended by two Star Fortresses. The smaller Midway way with less than twenty thousand, and the larger, and much older Fal Star Fortress which fielded close to a million, and it was that station which Magnus wanted to visit and see.
