Silversong Alloy
The substance of the Silversong Moon is a psychoactive silver alloy that removes impurities and finds decay as well as, if not better than, real silver. It is only found on the new moon itself and can only be mined with the permission of the goddess Jenevieve. The changelings and goblins who have found refuge on the Silversong soothe the silver into homes, weapons, and protective amulets with their songs.
Me ol' friend Spark gifted me a Silversong amulet that responds to my singing! I can't carry an Az-damned tune, but it harmonizes with me and lets me at least get by on Karaoke Night! Also, it repels beasties and grumkins just as well as one of Lola's magic amulets!
The Silversong Moon was summoned into existence with a Ritual of Lunar Apotheosis that used the changeling soul of the disembodied Jenevieve Silversång. as its catalyst. The result was an icosahedral moon made of eponymous silver that affected polymorphing for both good and ill.
The moon's material, dubbed Silversong Alloy, is a unique psychoactive substance that responds to the will of sophonts who are near it. It is particularly responsive to songs and mental powers. The changelings and blue goblins who live there have grown skilled at turning the alloy into whatever they can imagine.
They have discovered that the alloy can transform three times before it's locked into a final form. Settlements on the facets of the moon are surrounded by dream catchers to prevent the stray dreams of their citizens from turning into reality. One nightmare dragon almost destroyed Jennook before it escaped to another facet of the moon.
Amulets of the alloy have been especially useful for shifters and lycanthropes affected by Hidden Moon Frenzy and Aberrant Lycanthropy. The touch of the metal gives them some control over their shift, allowing them to choose which of their four shapes they transform into.
I love that the silversong alloy responds to song. <3
