Telperion Moon Raider
Unlike the normal skyships of our world, elven Telperion skyships were specially made to travel in the space between the heavenly spheres. Normal skyships cannot withstand the forces generated by totemic gravity lodestones, while the ancient starfaring designs of the elves can. With the discovery of additional types of totemic lodestone, advances in skyship engineering should eventually catch up to the elves.
All them elf flower and bug ships look like they'd fall apart in a stiff wind, but they're way tougher than they look! I particularly like the look of them Telperion Moon Raiders! They call 'em the "Thorns of Lokorn" and they're super sharp!
Telperion Moon Raiders are the smallest class of spaceworthy Telperion Skyships grown by the elves. They can carry 20 passengers and crew and have a cargo capacity of 50 tons. These fast ships were made to carry messages and small cargoes between worlds. They are the only elven ships that have been set aside for use by non-elf crews. The larger cruiser and dreadnaught classs ships remain in the exclusive use of the elves.
Starships of a Forgotten Age
In a previous age, the elves of Erathia traveled the stars and held an empire among the stars. For unknown reasons, they retured to our world and a relatively simple life. They planted their living ships in starship groves such as Taur na Cair. There the ships remained for millenia and were mostly forgotten.
When the War Against the Far Realm broke out, the fleet of elven Telperion Skyships was instrumental in the mortal folk of Erathia surving and eventually winning that war. Since then, the elves have kept up their fleet, the Thayan Armada. They travel monthly to the Shattered Moon using their skyships that can withstand the forces generated by the Wood of Telperion.
I love the idea of starship groves. <3 These sound interesting.
