Blue Goblin Talismans

There are many myths around blue goblins and most of them are harmful. There is no truth to the fact that blue goblin body parts have any more necromantic power than normal body parts. Despite the mandates against the sale of sophont body parts here in the Kirinal Concordance Zone, there is still an unfortunate blue market for the remains of dead blue goblins. If you see or hear of anyone offering such things for sale, please report them to the Zone Authority Police.

I am very glad that the orcs of Winter's Voice here in the Zone have left the more barbaric practices of our ancestors behind. I have nothing against the consensual practice of necromancy, but the trade in blue leather makes my stomach turn. Those blues fight side by side with us and I know quite a few of them who hunt down the Turquoise Tanners in their spare time.

Blue Goblins possess psychic powers that set them apart from their green brethren. Their beautiful blue skin is a mark of power that some believe they can claim for themselves. The credulous believe the ancient myth that the skin and body parts of a blue goblin will impart their power onto those who possess them.

The unfortunate truth is that a skilled necromancer or artificer can indeed draw power from the body parts of a dead blue goblin. This is no more or less true for blues than it is for any other dead being of power. Unfortunately for the blues, their beautiful sapphire skin has made them a target for those who fetishize them.

When the peoples of Erathia warred with each other, the head of a blue goblin was a prized trophy amongst the orcs. They would often create leather from the skin on the rest of the body. Unfortunately, the practice has not gone extinct. The notorious "Blue Goblin's Skull" of the Infernal Forces has the skull of a blue goblin leader as its figurehead. The furnishings are embellished with blue goblin leather from the leaders of the Blue Network that the Fist of Ar-Tamak hunted down and exterminated.

Oooooooh, I don't like those Turquoise Tanners. No sir! (Also, it looks like Sarge's quote is misattributed to Instructor, at least as of me reading this at 8:09 pm on Tuesday, July 30.)

I hate the Tanners too! They just jumped out of my head as I was writing this! Thanks for calling out the typo! As I've been saying, these are super sloppy!

Ugh, poor blue goblins. Scary how strong beliefs can make people do things.
