Lucius' Unfortunate Infiltration

Lucius Solara, the long-missing member of the Pit Patrol, makes a dramatic return. He has been in the Talin Islands unraveling the mysteries of his family and the Tambanakua.

He sought out his lliving relatives near the Tamanakua Volcano. He went to the closest village and tried to discover what he could surreptitiously. Unfortunately, his foreign clothing and manners gave him away and hew was taken prisoner almost immediately. The Spider Cultists destroyed his ident-a-hedron and kept him prisoner for months.

The Wardens of Tambanakua held the aasimar in captivity, planning to feed him to the lava spider during the next equinox. Fortunately his mother, Maricelia Guimatao, realized that he had been taken. She had herself polymorphed out of her monstroud body and into an elven form.

She found her son and returned a few of his most precious possessions back to him. Together they escaped and Lucius made his way back to the Bayani-Sun Casino.

Assault on the Terminal Excresence

Lucius returns amidst chaos. Thirteen has been captured by Lord Syuul, the mind flayer lord, and D'Wat, Zernon, T-R01d, and Lucius head out to the Kirinal Wastes and descend into the Terminal Excresence to rescue their friend.

Entering the Excresence

Their mission takes them through a treacherous path, where they confront advanced mind flayers and a formidable dragonbone golem. The golem's tenacity tests their mettle, but it ultimately succumbs to fire and acid, allowing them to progress further into the mind flayer laboratory.

Inside the laboratory, they encounter a nightmarish assortment of challenges. Intellect devourers and a relentless dire troll stand in their way, with the troll proving unkillable until they employ fire and acid to finally subdue it. But the heart of the ordeal lies deeper within, as they confront Lord Syuul in the act of dissecting Thirteen.

In the Grasp of Lord Syuul

Lord Syuul's gruesome experiments have disassembled Thirteen, leaving her in a vulnerable state. The Pit Patrol faces off against the mind flayer lord, who employs a cunning blend of illusions, teleportation, and powerful psychic abilities to nearly annihilate them.

Syuul commands the very walls of his chamber to become predatory mouths, threatening to devour Zernon and Lucius. He attempts to extract Zernon's brain, only to be forced into hiding behind flesh walls. D'Wat, T-R01d, and the fairy rogue launch psychic attacks, and when Lord Syuul retaliates, he nearly succeeds in killing Lucius. It's a battle on the edge of annihilation.

After a fierce struggle, D'Wat delivers the killing blow to Lord Syuul, finally bringing an end to the mind flayer lord's horrific experiments. As they survey the aftermath of their triumph, they discover a treasure trove within Lord Syuul's lab, hinting at the mind flayer's twisted motivations.

They also uncover the startling capability of the vivisection chamber within the lab, realizing that it has the power to alter their bodies if they so desire.
