Episode 01: Welcome to the Triple B Guild
General Summary
The four newest members of the Triple B Guild arrive at The Spike, the guildhouse on The Tortoise, the great dwarven city that travels on a track in the Kirinal Concordance Zone. They have been assigned to a new squad and are just meeting each other.
The New Guild Members
Taela Wrenleaf is an Entulesse elven ranger of the Thayan Armada. She was supposed to go to the Shattered Moon, but missed her flight. She was "assigned" to the Triple B Guild just to get her out of the hair of her superiors.
Gundar Starveil is an ex-ZAP who just left the Zone Authority to become a bond/bounty hunter. Like most police in the Zone, he's a trained unarmed warrior. He tired of the corruption he's seen in the powerful and wealthy in the Tortoise, but is still on good terms with his zap friends. His family came to the Zone generations ago and is well established.
Gundar has been married nine times and took a new vow after every marriage. He's currently not drinking alcohol.
Laszlo Cravensworth, sometimes known as Jackie Daytone, is a 25-year-old Human Bard, grew up in a noble family but always preferred the thrill of taverns over the quiet halls of his estate. Known for his sharp wit and love of debauchery, he gained fame with his unconventional choice of instrument—a bagpipe. His bawdy ballads and charm made him a favorite among both the highborn and the common folk.
The warlock Veoric Sun Rozzo is a tiefling with little to say. He appears to be under the spell of his clockwork familiar, a little sphinx named Gyrosphinx.
The Job Board
The new recruits were introduced to the Triple B Job Board that featured a collection of opportunities in the Zone, around the Sovranty, and out in the multiverse:
A goblin bondservant who escaped the Magisters. He has a chariot drawn by a demonic chicken named Cluckthulu. He's infamous for knocking Bond Chasers off of the bridge that he lives under.
Nyoxes the dragonborn and Ryper the myconid are trapped in the Feywild. They are friends who were last seen together in the Faerie Market.
The grippli brewer grows mushrooms on his back and brews slightly poisonous beer from it. He knocks people out with his grog and steals their possessions. He absconded with a valuable key to a marsh in the Shadowfell.
The Guild
Their mentor is the Finder, Shepherd Numan, a famous and established soulforged. He speaks with a friendly accent and is very helpful. He won't help them with bonds, but is happy to help with beacons and bounties.
Guildmaster Raithara Stoneshield is a dwarven matron responsible for taking jobs and managing the guild's operations. She is immediately taken by the handsome dwarf Gundar. She flirts with him, and offers him Psychic Beer. He kindly rebuffs her, but takes the beer anyway.
The Quartermaster Toven Ostellos keeps a stock of minor magical items and healing potions. Their inventory changes weekly and they offer a 25% discount to guildmembers in good standing.
Hags in the Feywild
As an Entulesse, Taela grew up in the Feywild, so she knows that their best chance at success would be tracking the dragonborn and the myconid. They travel to the marke on the day of Faerie where they follow the clues out to the hut of the hag Granny Greentoes.
As they approach the hag's hut, they encounter animated twigs and skitterlings (flying rodents) that attack in defense of their mistress. Once they've dispatched them. They realize that they're surrounded by enormous frogs that they know they are no match for.
They see the hag, standing next to an enormous cauldron. The hapless myconid and dragon-man are tied up next to her, dreading the pot they are destined for.
