Two, the Surveyor of Worlds is the great hero of my people. He was the second of my kind to be re-born, and like the first, One, he has taken his rightful place amongst the mighty of the Concordance! Every day at dawn, Two flies into the Manifest and sounds the Horn of Kirinal. It is on his word and his judgement that our civilization has a day of peace or if we declare war.
You'd never know it from the stories or the paintings or all the pomp and pageantry, but the Surveyor is a small guy! He barely comes up to my armpit! Even so, he and his team are the first to go into the Pit every morning! Goes to show you that heart matters more than size!
On the uncertain days of Shatter and Prime, Two, the Surveyor of Worlds, flies over the Kirinal Pit with the other Kirinal Divers. He determines how many times the Horns of Kirinal will blow. The Soulforged leader of the Kirinal Divers sounds the Call every morning, in Diver's Cypher.
It is the dawn before Prime. I'm more nervous than I am before Shatter. I can predict what a full of lava or demons or far realm aberrations will do. I can never tell what people will do. I feel the crystal in my chest pulsing as I begin to go over the calculations and possibilities.
My beloved stands behind me and touches my back gently. My mind calms and my thoughts clear. I must focus on what is, not what could be. The Orrery begins to flash and I turn my attention to the task at hand.
The Manifest lands in the Kirinal Pit with a familiar snap of ozone and light. The warm summer air instantly becomes bitingly cold as a winter sea appears in the Pit. I ignite the rockets on my back and take to the air. My team follows behind in formation.
I begin my survey by speaking into my Ident-a-hedron. "I note a standard Prime ocean, shallow with ice... By Anam's Swords. Chagroth, how the hell did you miss the thousand foot tall giant in the water!"
As I prepare to declare a Day of War, I fly towards the titan walking in the water. It has four arms, a massive sword, and has water coming out of two heads. As I approach, I see a familiar rainbow glow and a warping of reality around it.
"We got lucky this time Navigator! It's a god!"
As the Divine Gate pulls the pale giant out of our reality, I snap a few pictures as a reference to hand over to the god-botherers. Then I return my attention to my survey as the Zone waits for my Call.
