Icing Bear Species in World of Wizard's Peak | World Anvil

Icing Bear

Icing bears are a type of Gourmet Golem created by gastronomically themed sorcerers and gourmet artificers. On occasion, these animated confections develop sentience or get possessed by a passing spirit. When they do, scrupulous creators will bring them in cool or cold climates to prevent their butter cream outer layers from melting. This also keeps them away from insects attracted to their sugary goodness.

Unfortunately, gourmet golems are unable to reproduce or live for long out in the wild. They tend to be very delicious and are an easy target for wildlife or unscrupulous hungry people (children). As a result there are traveling golem menageries that specialize in displaying frozen golems. They show different types of icing bears along with ice cream cats, chocolate rabbits, and popsicle porcupines.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Although they do not technically need to eat, icing bears enjoy eating cakes, sweets, ice cream, and snow.

Behaviour

Icing bears have a very dim sentience that allows them to barely understand the unfair hand they have been dealt. They have the instincts of an apex predator and the body of a large cake. They can be aggressive, but their spongy nature makes them mostly harmless.
