Tools of Play

Table Rules

House rules are for fun and subject to change from session to session. These are to maximize fun, not to max out complications.

Critical Hits
Critical hits are max die + die roll. e.g. Crit with 1d8= 8+1d8

Critical Fails
Critical fails cause an attack of opportunity from foes within melee range.

Hit Point Rolls
When leveling up, you get advantage on your hit point roll.

Minions
Minion enemies have 1 HP and don’t take half damage on failed saves. I'll declare minions if they are part of an encounter.

Inspiration
Inspiration shall be granted for roleplaying your listed character traits. You can give your inspiration to any other party member whenever you wish, but you have to roleplay how you do it.

Healing potions
Drinking healing potions uses your bonus action.

Firearms
Firearms exist at the Renaissance level, pricing is in the DMG. Firearms training is available as a downtime activity when appropriate.

Concordant Zone Mandates

The Zone functions differently than the rest of the world. Here is some of what you need to know.

Ident-a-hedron
You will be assigned a hedron when you first arrive at the Zone. It must be presented when you enter or exit the Zone, whenever you cross Canton borders, when you enter a city, and when you use public transport.

Teleportation
If you teleport more than 30 feet or try to cross a ward, you will be caught in the Zone's Teleport Baffles and materialize in a cell in the Fortress closest to you.

Conjuration
If you try to summon anything with a CR > 1, it will appear in a cell in the Fortress closest to you.

Spirits
The Zone is full of spirits, light and dark. Take the proper precautions!

Cantons
The eight cantons of the Zone are like different countries with different laws.

Zone Authority
The Zone Authority is the overarching executive authority for the Zone. You'll intereact with them whenever you cross borders. They operate throughout the Zone.

Days of the Week
The days of the week regulate the Manifest. Learn the schedule!

Nobility
Noble titles do not confer any official rights in the Zone. Some Cantons are more egalitarian than others. Noble titles carry different social weight depending on which of the Zones you are in.
