Root of Eladriel

Founders of the Aleph Zero Syndicate and The Blood Watchers

The Root of Eladriel is a patriotic organization based in the elven kingdom of Amredhel. Based in the capital city of Eladriel, they uphold traditional elven values and lobby to maintain the "purity" of elven blood. Their membeship includes some of the most powerful and wealthy elves in the Hartshome Forest. They are frequently mentioned in the parasitic newspaper known as "Aleph Zero Revelations." They deny any official involvment with that group, but remain silent on unofficial entanglements.

We don't get too many of them old-fashioned elves here in the Zone, they think it's too modern here for them. Well, good! I say stay out, we don't want you either. When they do come, you can tell right away, because they're dressed just like the elves in the picture books! I've got plent of pointy eared drinking buddies, but these Rooters don't want to have nothing to do with the likes of me!

Sgt. Kill Flayer

The Root of Eladriel is an ancient society of high-born elves devoted to maintaining the traditions, culture, and purity of the elven race. Most noble families and wealthy merchant houses have a membership in the group. They mostly believe that the "Root" is an old-fashioned but mostly harmless group that throws together fancy parties for them to attend. However, the leadership of the "Root" keeps their true purpose a secret.

In reality, the Root of Eladriel has aligned itself with other chauvinistic groups, the human "Blood of Taristrae" and the dwarven "Ore of Razun", to create the Aleph Zero Syndicate. They are devoted to bringing back the "good old days" when elves, dwarves, and humans alone were in charge of the world. They lobby for the extermination of "humanoids" and soulforged. They believe that other non "demi-human" races would be better off going back where they came from.

They especially dislike the modernity of the Kirinal Concordance Zone and the drastic measures that elves have had to use to recover from the loss of their population during the War Against the Far Realm. They disapprove of the use of Faerie to rapidly age Entulesse elves and the amnesty that was granted to the drow to welcome them back to elvenkind.

Along with their active membership in the Aleph Zero Syndicate, they also have another secret responsibility that they take very seriously.

Guardians of Valentine's Statue

Valentine's Statue, an exquisite work of art crafted from silver and mithril, stands prominently in the heart of Eladriel's bustling neighborhood, Valentine's Flag. While it serves as a symbol of remembrance and admiration for the enigmatic Vampire King, it also conceals a well-guarded secret known only to the highest members of "The Root of Eladriel."

Unknown to even the current monarch Cabron Elf-King, the statue actually contains the Vampire King himself. Cabron's father Thirion Elf-King was jealous of the vampires growing popularity amongst common elves. He betrayed Valentine during the Battle of the Barrow Shard, imprisoning him in silver and mithril. He then brought the prison back to Eladriel and put it on display as a "monument" to his ally. He tasked the "Root of Eladriel" with keeping the secret and making sure that the Vampire King remained imprisoned.

Bound By Blood Oaths

These Blood Watchers form a secret society within the society. Only the highest ranking members are allowed to know this secret. They hide the knowledge from the general populace and the current Elf-King himself. The revelation of Thirion's betrayal and the plight of Valentine could create unrest and sow doubt among the common elves who loved the Vampire King. The already unpopular nobility could lose power if the secret was revealed. They fear the revenge that the vampires and the King himself would unleash on the elves.

Secret Surveillance

The Blood Watchers maintain a close watch over Valentine's Statue, employing regular and magical means of surveillance. They own many of the buildings and businesses in the Valentine's Flag district. They make a healthy profit on people coming to see the sttue while ensuring that the vampiric monarch remains trapped and on display at all times.

Thank you! They do suck and they're a little too close to real people that I dislike.
