When pierced by this needle, a target takes 1 piercing damage and a small, glowing tattoo appears around the injury with a resulting effect determined by rolling on the table below:d8 | Effect |

1 | Envy: For 1 hour, all ranged weapon or spell attacks targeted towards a creature within 10 feet of the target deflect towards the target instead. |
2 | Gluttony: For 1 minute, the target must use an action on each of their turns to consume 1 day's worth of rations or equivalent food or make a DC 12 + the number of turns passed without eating Constitution saving throw, gaining 1 point of exhaustion on a fail. |
3 | Greed: The target's Wisdom modifier decreases by 1d6 for each attuned magic item they carry (maximum of 3d6) for 1 hour. If this effect reduces a target's Wisdom score to 0, the target becomes incapacitated and spends the duration obsessively counting their coins or admiring their magic items. |
4 | Innocence: The target seemingly suffers no effect at first, but after each long rest the target's Intelligence score decreases by 1d6. If this effect reduces a target's Intelligence score to 0, the target loses all former memories and can only be returned by a Wish spell or similar effect. |
5 | Lust: The next time the target sees a creature within 10 minutes after being pierced by this needle, the target becomes charmed by that creature for 1 hour. If the creature is of a species and gender the target is normally attracted to, they regard it as their true love while they are charmed. |
6 | Pride: The target gains disadvantage against the next saving throw they make within 1 hour. |
7 | Sloth: The target suddenly inflates, doubling their weight and halving their speed for 1 hour. While under this effect, the target's Dexterity score decreases by 1d6. If this effect reduces a target's Dexterity score to 0, the target becomes paralyzed for the duration. |
8 | Wrath: The tattoo created by the needle suddenly explodes into a fireball, causing the target to take 3d6 fire damage. If the tattoo was located on an arm or leg, all attacks made using that arm are done at disadvantage or the target's walking speed is halved until he damage dealt by the effect is healed. Any creature standing within 10 feet of the target when the tattoo explodes must succeed on a DC 12 Dexterity saving throw or take the damage as well, halved on a success. |
