This shield counts as a melee weapon with the thrown (20/60ft) property that deals 1d4 + Str bludgeoning damage. Once per turn when you hit a Medium or smaller target with the shield, you may immediately make a Shove attempt against them.   When an ally you can see is targetted by an attack roll, you can use your reaction to move up to your movement speed toward the ally. If you end your movement within 5ft of the ally, you may impose disadvantage on the attack roll. You may use this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus and regain all expended uses when you complete a short or long rest.

A beautifully steel shield with bronze and silver inlay depicting a ram's head wth curling horns, the symbol of House Nahib. Despite having seen combat on dozens of ocassions and being dented around the edges from weapon blows, the gilding is strangely intact. When used to defend one's allies, the bronze gives off a warm glow ever so briefly and the wielder feels an amplification of their defensiveness of their allies.
