Grig's Grotto

The world-famous Grig's Grotto is the best dance club in the entire Kirinal Concordance Zone. The drinks are cold, the music is hot, and the dancers are electric. The inside of the building is lit by faerie lights. The gigantic wooden dance floor is surrounded by tables lit with candles. The edge of the floor swarms with dancers looking for partner.

I was singularly unimpressed walking up to the nondescript, converted warehouse. "This can't be Grig's Grotto." I thought to myself. I opened the glass doors and a wave of raucous music and sweaty air slapped me in the face. Laughing dancers of all ages mixed happily as they searched for a new partner after every song. I felt like I had come home.

The bands play on a huge stage inside an acoustical shell at the end of the hall. The music is magically amplified to fill every corner of the floor. The versatile stage can accommodate anyone from a single acapella performer, to an entire symphony, and everything in between.

Partner dancing of all kinds is popular at the Grotto. The club starts filling just after dinner with fast-paced Fiddletwitch dancers spinning around each other with complicated footwork. As the hour gets later, the music slows down, the lights turn low, and the dancers get closer together as they dance the Twilight.

Last Dance on Heaven

The busiest night at the Grotto is the night of Heaven. The floor fills with soldiers from throughout the Zone, trying to have a last bit of fun before Shatter and a possible day battling for their lives. The threat of possible death makes the dances more lively and the connections more intense.

People complaining about finding a life partner should just go dancing! I met at least 2 of the loves of my life on the dance floor!

The Grotto has a flourishing side business of renting out their space to dancers who met on the floor and are getting married. There are a lot of Grotto babies throughout the Zone.
