Unlike most Battledrive Configurations, which are named after prolific figures of myth, the Alpha configuration takes its name from its duties rather than its skillset. In battle, Alpha Battledrives are the first soldiers sent, and are well-rounded fighters trained with specialized combat scenarios for fighting multiple opponents at a time. Alpha drives are often seen as the closest to human, and emphasize an efficient battle as minimizing losses and moderating risk when attacking.

Alpha Training
At 1st level, upon selecting this configuration, you gain proficiency with one Railtech melee weapon of your choice.
Intimidating Approach
At 1st level, during the first round of combat your appearance causes enemies to falter in their confidence. The first attack against you receives a penalty equal to your Charisma modifier to their attack roll.
Reflexive Shielding
At 8th level, you gain the Shield reaction. If a creature attacks you, or a creature adjacent to you, you may make a Dexterity saving throw against the attack. The DC for this saving throw is the creature's attack roll. If you are successful, you create a momentary shield that deflects all damage. Projectiles and spells are deflected in a straight line back to the creature that made the attack. Melee attacks that are deflected become damaged, dealing -2 points of damage until repaired. On a failed save, the shield is destroyed by the attack, and the target of the attack or spell takes half damage.
You cannot use this ability again until you complete a short or long rest.
Tether Pull
At 13th level, as a bonus action, you can extend a tendril from your Biotech suit and pull one target within 20 feet 5 feet towards you. Willing creatures are pulled and remain balanced. Unwilling creatures must make a Strength saving throw against your Strength score. On a failed save, the creature is pulled 5 feet and becomes prone.
First Line
At 18th level, add your Constitution modifier to your Armor Class. Additionally, any allies within 5 feet of you gain +3 to their Armor Class. When a target you attack is flanked by a creature you are allied with, that creature may take an attack of opportunity if your attack is successful.
