Drakon

Ability Score Increase +2 to any one stat
Size Medium
Speed 30ft

Natural Armor: You have tough, scaly skin. When you aren't wearing armor, your AC is 12 + your Dexterity modifier. You can use your natural armor to determine your AC if the armor you wear would leave you with a lower AC. A shield's benefits apply as normal while you use your natural armor.   Bite: Your fanged maw is a natural weapon, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with it, you deal piercing damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.

Most Drakon are unable to unlock their locked away abilities or manifest their wings, but as the players are of exceptional circumstances they can manifest one of the following traits:

Elemental Affinity: You can use your action to exhale destructive energy. Your scale color determines the size, shape, and damage type of the exhalation. When you use your breath weapon, each creature in the area of the exhalation must make a dexterity saving throw. The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus. A creature takes 2d6+ your proficiency bonus damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. The damage increases to 3d6+ your proficiency at 6th level, 4d6+ your proficiency at 11th level, and 5d6+ your proficiency at 16th level. After you use your breath weapon, you can't use it again until you complete a short or long rest.   or   Flight: Gain a 30ft flight speed as wings sprout from your back, you can't wear heavy armor while flying.

Chose one of the following heritages for your elemental affinity.

Earth:

Stone's Endurance: You can focus yourself to occasionally shrug off injury. When you take damage, you can use your reaction to roll a d12. Add your Constitution modifier to the number rolled, and reduce the damage by that total. After you use this trait, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.   Earthen presence: If you unlocked your elemental abilities you unleash a tremor through your body and into the ground around you. You force all creatures within a 5ft radius to make the dexterity save or take bludgeoning damage as the breath weapon listed at the top in elemental affinity, but your proficiency damage is doubled and all creatures who fail also fall prone.
