The region surrounding a vampires lair's warped by the creatures unnatural presence. Their is a noticeable increase in the presence of bats, rats, and wolves. Plants within 500 feet of the lair wither and their branches and stems become twisted and deformed. Shadows within 500 feet of the lair seem abnormally gaunt and sometimes move as if alive. A creepy fog clings to the ground within 500 feet, the fog sometimes takes eerie forms such as grasping claws, and writhing serpents. If a vampire is destroyed, these effects end in 2d6 days.
