Battlemage: Whilst holding this weapon you have a +2 bonus to attack rolls and a +2 bonus to AC.
Mageblade: When you cast a spell, you can use your bonus action to make an attack with this weapon.

Mageblade of the Nightstalker (Awakened)

Nightstalker: You can use an action to learn the general direction of a creature who has taken damage from this weapon. If you use it during the night, you will learn the exact direction of said creature. This will only work against creatures who were damaged in the last week, whilst they are within 10 miles.

Minasteria, Mageblade of the Nightstalker (Exalted)

Nemesis: You can nominate a Nemesis for this weapon by spending 10 minutes in concentration, thinking of a specific target creature you are familiar with. Attacks from this weapon deal an additional 2d8 force damage against the target. You cannot change the Nemesis, or select a new one if the target is dead, until 1 week has passed.

Quirks

• Experienced: The weapon will glow a sinister red colour around areas that have experienced bloodshed in the last week.
• Vengeful: Once crossed, the weapon will not forget and you will feel encouraged in situations where you can realise your revenge.

 

Lore

Forged by a group of esteemed blacksmiths during the 3rd Umbral Era, this blade was created to custom specifications of a Sorceress (the Sorceress Minasteria Crimsonsworn). As a magic caster who relished in being up close and personal with her opponents, the Sorceress (Minasteria) decided that she required a special weapon to allow her to overcome the typical weakness of a mage.

Initially named after her title, Mageblade. This dagger features an ornately decorated handle, forged entirely from gold to improve magical channelling. The blade itself is made from Magus Crystal, a material that becomes extremely resilient when magical energy is poured into it.

Later on in life, the sorceress would join the X. "Nightstalker"

(Revealed upon Exalted)
Minasteria was fell by the X. Upon her deathbed, Minasteria swore to exact revenge on him. As life drained from her body, a mysterious violet jewel appeared on the hilt of Mageblade...
