"Now why do you think we are less intelligent, hmm? Is it because we look like children? Is it because we love adventure and spending time with our associates? Is it because we love to do what we're told, even if we have to throw in some chaos? Understand, that while those are true, they are no where near the true defining factors of an honorable Seikagi. Though I cannot explain our deep history and culture in a single sitting, let me just tell you this: If you really do think you're smarter than me, High-Elf, then you have a long ways to go, my friend."- Mochi Goodwill, Elder Druid of the Seikagi council, retorting against Lysander Silvennon, an Elvish scholar.Physical Description Seikagi are small, skinny, and generally small in appearance. The total antithesis of their lunar counterparts, the Earthen Seikagi still retain a similar look to the Tsukagi, having both rabbit-ear like appendages on their head and a small, bushy tail on their lower backs, but are much more small and energetic. While Seikagi have similar skin tones to the Tsukagi, their hair tends to be more earthen browns and blacks, and on rare occasions, white, and their pupils also tend to be generally dark grey in color. Additionally, while they are not graceful, they are indeed just as slim, with very few ever reaching past 45 Lbs. Seikagi body structure tends to be slightly different than the average humans. While it is still extremely humanlike, they do have some slightly noticeable differences in structure. For starters, Seikagi eyes tend to be bigger than the average human, and their faces appear to blush harder than an average humans. Seikagi legs appear to be structured differently as well, as they appear to have more power put into the the thigh and calf areas as to allow for higher jumping and faster sprinting. One final point of interest is the fact that most Seikagi have two large front teeth, which appear to be slightly larger than the average humans. Despite this, it is still believed that the Seikagi are omnivores, as evident by the Seikagi's canine teeth. History Like their Lunar counterparts, the Tsukagi, the Seikagi used to be apart of a bigger race known as the Mikoto; pacifistic humanoid being with bunny like features, and creations of the Lady of the Moon, Lady Kaguya. These people could be found all over the world, though a heavy concentration was found in the Eastern Isles. They generally lived peaceful lives, mingling with other races and serving as entertainers, teachers, workers, and traders, to name a few occupations. That all changed one day, however, when a civil war engulfed the Islands. The Mikoto, being pacifistic and refusing to fight, decided to sit out the war and enter hiding. However, while many Mikotos chose to leave to the Moon, many others decided to stay and wait out the war, knowing full well that the combat would soon subside. Eventually, the war did subside, and the pacifistic Mikotos who stayed could once again mingle with the other races. They would pray to the moon, hoping that their fellow Mikoto who fled their would stay safe and eventually return. However, after many eras, the Mikotos who stayed and the Mikotos who left became so different that even if the lunar Mikoto came back, they could never hope to fit in with their Earthen counterparts. Society Seikagi society is heavily based off merriment, exploration and faith. Many are often times seen as adventurers who wander into far-unknown lands in hope of finding new locations and stories, while others are clerics who still perform the old tradition of praying to the moon, despite the original reason losing its meaning. No matter what, though, Seikagi are always a good type to have around. Many are strong willed and determined, their playfulness often being a hopeful respite to many adventurers, and their biting sense of humor creates some well needed comedy in many dark situations. A common occurence in Seikagi society is the idealism of servitude. Often times many will find groups of Seikagi serving other races, sometimes for no other payment then kind rules, warm meals, and nice beds. While some may find this abusive or wrong, the Seikagi don't mind it at all. Actually, many prefer the life of servitude, as it allows them to put their strength and determination to uses that do not involve harming others. The Seikagi will almost always choose to worship their Lady of the Moon, the Lady Kaguya, progenitor of the first Mikoto. The Seikagi also worship her because of their Lunar counterparts, who they believe hear their blessings. It is unknown who this lady Kaguya is, but it is believed that she does live on the Material Planet, and is the only living being with true transportation between the Moon and the Planet, though her whereabouts are completely unknown. Seikagi communities are usually comprised of den-like houses built underground or into the sides of hills, and tend to be very homely and roundish, using heavy incorporation of red wood, stone, and iron. They usually take up the occupations of farmers or millers, and work fairly quickly for their size. Seikagi rarely eat by themselves, as they often times share their meals with their neighbors. Some Seikagi villages tend to eat meals all together at one long table. Additionally, many Seikagi communities are very welcoming to outsiders, save for a few races they generally dislike, such as Alu-Demons or Drow, and will usually treat said outsiders like long lost family or close friends. Overall, Seikagi tend to always be welcoming and friendly to other races, and never like to discriminate for nonsensical reasons. It is often said that those who stay in a Seikagi community never leave feeling unhappy. Like their Lunar counterparts, the Seikagi also celebrate heavily, though these celebrations happen more in the Fall. The reason behind this is because Autumn is the time of year when the Tsukagi left to the moon, and as such, the entire season is very important to them. Prayer is common throughout this season. An important tradition during these events is the creation of Mochi. The job of creating Mochi is so important that it is considered a sacred rite passed down through centuries. Though the reason as to why this is important has been lost, it is believed that Mochi was a very important dessert to the Mikoto, which explains why both the Tsukagi and the Seikagi consider Mochi to be a sacred food. On the topic, if there is at any point in a Seikagi's life where they meet a Tsukagi, the Seikagi will almost definitely be ecstatic to meet them as they will usually bond over their worship of the Moon lady and general life experiences, even if the Tsukagi can come off as "a teensie weensie bit arrogant." As a final notice, it has been noted that many Seikagi vehemently despise the Fae. The Seikagi greatly disapprove of the Fae's methods and general attitude towards others, believing that the Fae are "nothing more than a bunch of pompous, arrogant brats who want everything and give nothing!" It got so bad that many Seikagi communities threaten any Fae military units with divine retribution from their Lady of the Moon. As such, it is very rare that a Fae will ever be sighted near a Seikagi village. One should also note that while they aren't hostile towards any normal Fae not associated with the military, they definitely aren't friendly. Seikagi Names While many Seikagi communities still uphold their old Mikoto naming conventions of beginning their first names with the letter M, many more Seikagi have adapted to more modern naming conventions, adapting a wider variety of names and even adapting last names, unlike their lunar counterparts. Many Seikagi will take after Human names, and the names will almost always start with the letter M, though their last names do not seem to follow this convention. It should be noted that most Seikagi that work for a master will often times use their master's last name rather than their own.
