Khurin

Ability Score Increase +2 Charisma, +1 Intelligence, +1 Wisdom, -1 Strength, -1 Constitution
Size Medium
Speed 30ft

Khurin tend to be of slender build and to be a bit taller in general than a comparable human, though not overly much so in either regard.   Khurin hair color runs the gamut of their human cousins' but tends more towards brown. At middle-age, Khurin hair color tends to go grey and then white, at least in patches, though generally entirely.   Eye color ranges from blue to green. There has never been a recorded instance of a brown-eyed Khurin.   All Khurin, regardless of class, know three cantrips and one level one spell, which can be selected from Bard, Druid, Ranger, Sorcerer, Warlock, of Wizard lists. The first-level spell can be used once per long rest, though as the Khurin advances in level, they gain an additional use of the spell for every four levels.   Khurin have darkvision to thirty feet.   Quick-witted: Khurin receive a +1 on Initiative checks, and receive a +1 on any arcana, history, insight, investigation, perception, and persuasion checks, provided that they are proficient in the skill, and provided they have five minutes of uninterrupted time to gather their thoughts and focus on the task at hand.   Peaceful Upbringing: Khurin have a -2 on Intimidation checks due to the peaceful and humble nature of their culture.   Magic in the Blood: Khurin Bards, Druids, Rangers, Sorcerers, Warlocks, and Wizards enjoy advantage on saving throws versus a single school of magic from Abjuration, Divination, Enchantment, Necromancy, or Transmutation. In order for them to receive this benefit they must be conscious, not restrained, and can see the source of the magical effect.   Deemed Heretical: Khurin were deemed an unholy threat to human society by the edict of the Arch-Prelate of the Talvisharan Church thirty years ago. This resulted in the Holy Purge by the church's Va'shek knights. A Khurin attempting to perform a persuasion check against a human who ardently adheres to the Talvisharan faith does so at disadvantage. Additionally, Charm and similar spells cast by a Khurin against such a target allow the target advantage on his or her saving throws. The Khurin is anathema to priests, paladins, and other warriors of the Talvisharan faith. As such any healing or other beneficial magical effects from a Talvisharan divine spellcaster will not positively effect a Khurin.   Bonus Feat: Khurin may choose a bonus Feat from Healer, Keen Mind, Linguist, Observant, Ritual Caster, or Skilled.

Languages. Khurinese, usually either elvish and/or the tongue of the nearby human nation(s), as well as any other tongue the Khurin in question might be curious about and have found a way to learn.
