Impim Names
Impims have a variety of names, dependent on where they come from.
Physical Description
Impims are small, bird-like yokai with thick, round forearms and thighs. They can have any type of bird legs but usually have anisodactyl feet as seen on small birds. All impims have a natural hood with fake ears attached to their shoulders. This hood can have horns attached to it and can be pulled down or up at any time. These yokai do not have any visible ears but can still hear perfectly fine. All impims have at least one eye, two whiskers, and two small nubs on their head as well as 3 pointy fingers and a thumb on each hand. Impims have one base coat color but can have a variety of patterns and features in addition to the mandatory traits. They are omnivores but prefer meat over vegetables and fruit.
Impim Traits
Age. Impims live for a very long time. They reach maturity at 18 and can live up to 1000 years.
Alignment. Due to their wild nature, Impims generally lean towards chaotic and neutral alignments.
Size. Impims come in a variety of sizes but average around 3-4ft. It is not uncommon to be shorter or taller than that; however, they have a max of 6ft. Your size is Small.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 25 feet. You may get additional modes of movement from your subrace.
Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Yokai Nature. Since Impims are magical yokai with a variety of features, your creature type is Monstrosity.
Magical Beings. Due to having innate magic, each Impim can cast one cantrip of choice. Wisdom is your spellcasting modifier for this cantrip.
Natural Cover. All impims have a fur hood attached to their bodies that provides them protection from the elements; however they have limited visibility while they have their hoods raised. You have -1 to all Perception checks while the hood is raised.
Subrace. You can choose between the Aquatic, Winged, Basic, and Oni subraces. Basic, Aquatic, and Winged subraces are considered regular Impims and Oni Impims can be Winged (see the Winged Oni trait).
Basic
Impims without any additional physical features but can still fend for themselves.
Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution score increases by 1.
Stand Your Ground. As an action, you may choose to block an incoming melee attack. You must succeed a Constitution saving throw of 10 + your Con modifier to block the whole attack or take half damage on a failed throw. You can do this up to 2 times before you must take a short or long rest to reuse this feature.
Sturdy Body. You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.
Aquatic
Some Impims may have aquatic tails/features which make them better suited for aquatic environments.
Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity score increases by 1.
One with Water. Impims with aquatic traits can move through water with ease. Your swim speed is 30ft.
Waterbreathing. You can breathe both air and water.
Winged
Some Impims may grow wings which aid in flight and battle.
Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity score increases by 1.
Flight. Some Impims may have wings; your flight speed is 30ft.
Windy Push. As an action, you can create a powerful gust of wind with your wings to push a creature 5ft back. The target creature must succeed a Dexterity saving throw equal to 10 + your Dex modifier. You can do this up to 2 times before you must take a short or long rest to reuse this feature.
Oni
Oni Impims were created through ancient myths of Impims. They came into being due to stories of Impim descriptions passed down through generations. Although they are similar to regular Impims, Oni Impims have more demonic traits. These yokai are much taller than their counterparts, often reaching heights of 6 to 8 feet, and have longer horns on their foreheads instead of short nubs. Oni Impims have a longer, rounded snout with a crooked mouth. Their mouths are filled with sharp teeth and they are strictly carnivorous. Oni Impims see regular Impims as kind of gross in a cute kind of way, while Impims think Oni Impims are cool.

Ability Score Increase. Your Strength score increases by 1.
Size. Oni Impims are taller than their fellow Impims. Your size is Medium and your height is between 6 to 8ft.
Speed. Oni impims have more powerful legs than regular Impims. Your base walking speed is 30ft.
Demonic Nature. Your creature type is both Fiend and Monstrosity.
Demon Blood. You are resistant to necrotic damage yet vulnerable to radiant damage.
Attack on Talon. Due to their strong legs, Oni Impims can make a powerful slashing attack with their talons. On a successful attack, you deal 1d4 slashing damage + your Strength modifier. You may attack with another talon as a bonus action after your initial talon attack.
Cool Minion Overlord. Regular Impims hold Oni Impims on a high pedestal and admire their every move, thus making it easy for Oni Impims to convince regular Impims to be their minions. You have advantage on Persuasion checks against regular Impims to do tasks for you. These tasks cannot cause them to hurt themselves nor push them into immediate danger.
Fur Hood Obstruction. Oni Impims' horns block their hoods from going bast their face. While you have partial protection from the elements, your face is exposed and you do not have -1 to Perception checks with it on unlike regular Impims. If you were to be splashed from the back of your head and you have your hood on, you would be protected, but not the other way around.
Winged Oni (Optional). Some Oni Impims may have wings like regular Impims. They retain all the features of Winged subclass except for the Ability Score Increase.
