The Dwarves have had a rough lot in life, between Drow, Illithid, Duergar, Giants, Orcs and even the occasional ambitious Dragon, they have spent their entire lifetimes as a race fighting to survive. This makes them one of the toughest and hardest of races in all of Faerun, often gruff and unfriendly to non-dwarfs as a matter of course. But there is a kernel of true nobility within that gruff exterior. The races earliest history is one of subjugation, a slave-race to the Giants of Ostoria during the Days of Thunder. They, in-part, were responsible for the falling of the old Empire, rising up when the Giants were abandoned by the Titans. They took to building cities deep beneath the earth to escape the chaos of Dragons and Giants. They created some of the most impregnable Fortresses during the great Orc Hordes of the Netherese, they helped throw back the Drow into the Underdark after the Slaying of Lolth, and they held of the Uthgardian Empire during the height of their power.

Delzoun
The Dwarves of the Sea of Fallen Stars and Spine of the World regions. They are very traditional with Fotresses dotting the north of Faerun and living amongst the Rashemi. They keep to their own, mining deep into the land and trading mithril, platinum and gold with other races. Growing massive beards and creating ever more elaborate armaments.

Heartland
The remnants of the Heartland Dwarves, Dwarves that were tragically in the path of the Uthgardian Empires expansion efforts. Many of their kin were captured, tortured, even had feet cut off and forced to make armour and weapons of the legionnaires killing across the realm. The greatest shame were that Uthgardians would shave their beards and brand their faces to prevent any future beard growth, the clumps of hair being a status symbol for the Slave keepers. After the fall of the Empire, many a Heartland Dwarf will keep their face clean shaven in honour of their elders.
Heartland Armour Training: You gain proficiency with armour 1 greater than your base class (none = light, light = medium, medium = heavy).
Kozakura
The native Dwarven population of Kara-Tur and Zukhara, mostly centred about the Adbar Principality. They were originally a mixture of proto-duergar and dwarves forced to the surface after a great cataclysm involving the Underdark and Kakuriyo the Veil. Years of intermarriage and cultural integration with the Karaturian people has led to a unique offshoot of the race that has properties of both.
Duergar Heritage: When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the

Duergar Resistance: You have advantage on saving throws against illusions and against being
Charmed or
Paralyzed.
