Age Centaurs mature and age at about the same rate as humans. Alignment Centaurs are inclined toward neutrality. Those who join the Selesnya are more often neutral good, while those who join the Gruul are typically chaotic neutral. Fey Your creature type is fey, rather than humanoid. Charge If you move at least 30 feet straight toward a target and then hit it with a melee weapon attack on the same turn, you can immediately follow that attack with a bonus action, making one attack against the target with your hooves. Hooves Your hooves are natural melee weapons, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you deal bludgeoning damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike. Equine Build You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push or drag. In addition, any climb that requires hands and feet is especially difficult for you because of your equine legs. When you make such a climb, each foot of movement costs you 4 extra feet, instead of the normal 1 extra foot. Survivor You have proficiency in one of the following skills of your choice: Animal Handling, Medicine, Nature, or Survival. Variants: Temperate region Centaur Living in temperate fields and forests, these Centaurs are the most commonly known of all. They live in large tents that are sturdy but easy to pack up, should they need to leave. They are excellent with ranged weapons and have the Sharpshooter trait. They are definitely the people to go to for bows and arrows of all kind. Cold region Centaur These Centaurs live in the heart if cold forests. They have long, thick coats, and hair that drapes over their wide hooves, to protect them from the cold. They are sedentary and build strong cabins made of wood and stone. During the winter, they hold festivals and competitions to keep themselves warm and entertained. They are resistant to cold but do not do well in the heat (vulnerable). They gain +2 Con and proficiency with ranged weapons. Savannah Centaur These Centaurs do best in open plains where they can run to their heart’s content. Their coats are short and often have patterns that help them camouflage themselves in the long grasses. Their hair is dark brown or black, and they only cut their hair after being defeated in combat. They live in large herds and their Council is lead by the strongest warrior. They are more spiritual than other Centaurs and value strength above all. It is not uncommon to see them with patterns painted on their skin. Living in the harsh conditions of the Savannah and often having to defend themselves or others from predators, they are resistant to heat but vulnerable to cold climates. They gain+1 Con, +2 Str, and are proficient with scythes and unarmed strikes with their fists. Desert Centaur Living in the desert, Desert Centaurs are very helpful when they find a thirsty traveller. The harsh conditions have increased their Constitution considerably and allowed them to resist extreme heat and extremely cold weather conditions quite well. They dehydrate 50% slower than other centaurs. They have very short, tan or sand coloured hair on their equine parts, and often wear head wraps to protect themselves from the sun. They are nomads and live in large tents made of thick cloth that can resist the harshest sandstorms. At night, families huddle together to share body heats. They carry large waterskins on their flanks and count on their Starreader to take them to the next source of water. They gain +2 Con, gain +1 hit points per level, and are acclimated to desert conditions, thanks to their tough skin. Ichthyocentaur (Hippocampus) The rarest Centaurs of all, the Ichthyocentaurs are half humanoid and half Hippocampus, water horses. They cannot go on land but have a swim speed of 24 meters. They live in pods, in caves near the coast. They often live along with pods of dolphins or manatees and have even developed a form of underwater agriculture. They can breathe both air and water and have proficiency with tridents.
