Flaws
A boy raised by former noblewoman who dishonored her status by having an affair with Rhys' father. Rhys and his mother suffered hard times for the majority of his childhood. She never kept a steady job and often required him to seek work on his own. He was lied to by his mother that his father was murdered by a nobleman, which created resentment in Rhys towards those in nobility. Rhys does not know that his mother used to be nobility. He remained with his mother long past the age of leaving to provide for her. She convinced him to take a job with a traveling Mercenary band as a smithing assistant at the age of 20. He traveled with them for 3 years and has yet to return to his mother. Rhys discovered his sorcerous powers on a day when an ambushing force of rivals attempted to infiltrate the camp near his tent. He attempted to sound the alarm but was engaged by the attackers. This was his first real fight, the last thing he remembers is seeing the cutting edge of a greatsword coming right at eye level. He awoke the next day to hear tales of how a massive eruption of blue flame killed the entire force and an unconcious Rhys lay in the epicenter. The head wizard of the band tutored Rhys and tested the range of his magical prowess. He learns more of his abilities now and again, however, both he and the wizard agree that there is more that lies within. The circumstances of the power remain a mystery as well
