Heroic Classes of Koth
Justicar
A noble, holy warrior who hunts those who use the dark arcane arts.

They are trained to resist magic and hunt down those in the kingdom who use and abuse the dark arts. Justicars act as judge and executioner when hunting down arcane casters within the realms and answer only to the church.
They hold no official rank but they are seen as enforcers of Vith's law and are authorized to act independently of the church while hunting rebel mages.

Attaining the Class:
Justicars are highly trained warriors who start their careers as clerics devoted to Vith. They spend many years learning the rituals of the church until they select a clerical domain. At this point they leave the church behind and join one of the many fighting orders as a warrior. (Cleric level 6)
Once they attain a certain level of martial skills(Fighter level 4-6), the fighting order or the church will sponsor them for the 'Trials of Dark Justice" where it is determined if they have the aptitude for the study of arcane arts. If they pass these trials they are given a 'Writ of Secrets' and authorized to study the arcane under the supervision of the Church of Vith.
They spend the next several years studying the arcane and how to defeat it. They are allowed to learn only those spells authorized by the church. Once they attain sufficient skill as a caster (Level 4-5) they are anointed as a Justicar for the Church of Vith and authorized to seek out those employing the dark arts, rebel druids and necromancers in the realms.
Special Abilities:
Justicars fight as the fighter level they attained and keep their clerical abilities and magic user abilities from dual classing. They take the best saving throws from each class as if they were a mulit-class character.
As Justicars level up they gain specific abilities each level specific to hunting and defeating spellcasters and those who employ arcane arts. They also gain abilities as they gain skill and experience hunting magic users. Casting level for all spells is Cleric, Magic User or Justicar level - whatever is higher.
Justicars must be Lawful.

Other Notes: Justicar Lore: Justicars were originally created to hunt blood mages many hundred years ago. Since then the order has changed to hunt all unauthorized arcane casters within the Kingdom of Vithyr. They also keep tabs on those casters who are allowed to study the arcane since they have church approved arcane training.
Campaign Notes: Justicars are trained in the City of Vithyr by a special sect of the Church of Vith.
