Weary Soul. Before you can become attuned to the weapon, you must kill a creature of your type and alignment(i.e. if you are a neutral-good humanoid, you must kill a neutral-good humanoid). Additionally, you have disadvantage on saving throws against spells.
Obsession. While you are attuned to the artifact, your flaws become amplified, and causes single minded obsessions to manifest related to those flaws.
You benefit from the following properties while attuned to this weapon:
- Hunter's Haste. While attuned to the artifact, your walking speed increases by 10 feet, and you gain a +1 bonus to Armor Class.
- Stout Construction. Making a ranged weapon attack within 5 feet of the target does not impose disadvantage on the attack.
- Deep Infused. The weapon has 20 charges for the following properties. The weapon regains 2d8+4 expended charges daily at dawn.
- Aberrant Corruption. When you hit with a weapon attack using the weapon, you can expend 1 charge to deal an extra 1d6 force damage to the target.
- Otherworldly Leap. When you hit with a weapon attack, you can expend 1 charge to teleport within 5 feet of the target creature immediately after. You can expend 2 additional charges, to empower the next attack made with this weapon against a target within 5 feet. On a hit, the target must make a dexterity saving throw. On a fail, the target takes 3d6 force damage. On a success, they take half.
- Aberrant Manifestation. While holding this weapon, you can expend 1 or more of its charges to cast one of the following spells from it, Charisma is your spellcasting modifier when casting them: Feather Fall (1 charge), Zephyr Strike (1 charge), Fog Cloud (3rd-level version, 3 charges), Detect Thoughts (2 charges), Misty Step (2 charges), Levitate (2 charges). Mislead (5 charges), Hunger of Hadar (3 charges), Major Image (3 charges), or Nondetection (3 charges).
Sentience. The Deep Fractured Bow is a sentient neutral good weapon with an Intelligence of 2, a Wisdom of 2, and a Charisma of 20. It has hearing and normal vision out to 60 feet.
The weapon can speak, read, and understand Common and Deep Speech. In addition, the item can communicate telepathically with any character that carries or wields it.
Personality. The personality harbored by this weapon has long since gone mad. The mind of the original persona has been long since ground into dust by the secrets and horrors held within the library, but the powerful will within still toils. When it attempts to communicate, it is barely comprehensible, even 1-2 word statements of barely intelligible, and it will often sound like violent yelling. In any opportunity, the Deep Azure Bow will attempt persuade the user to find as much information as possible about obscure subjects such as planar or dimension travel, as well as topics regarding the Far Realms. The Deep Azure Bow harbors an overbearing resentment for Aberrations and Wizards, and will attempt to make their wielder wary of such folk or creatures. However, even buried somewhere deep within the weapon's twisted persona, it still has memories of its time in life as a parent, and wishes to protect humanoid children and adolscents, so much so that the Deep Azure Bow will deattune from the user should they bring harm to them. On that note, the Deep Azure Bow will immediately deattune if the former was killed as a part of the attunement process.
