Kain is a 14th-level spellcaster. Their spellcasting ability is Intelligence (spell save DC 18, +10 to hit with spell attacks). Kain has the following wizard spells prepared:

  • Cantrips (At Will): blade ward, chill touch, create bonfire, green flame blade, light
  • 1st level (4 slots): absorb elements, cause fear, mage armor, earth tremor
  • 2nd level (3 slots): detect thoughts, see invisibility, mirror image
  • 3rd level (3 slots): catnap, clairvoyance, enemies abound
  • 4th level (3 slots): storm sphere, stone skin, greater invisibility
  • 5th level (2 slots): scrying, steel wind strike
  • 6th level (1 slots): chain lightning
  • 7th level (1 slots): delayed blast fireball


Changeling As an action, Kain can transform his appearance or revert to their natural form. Kain reverts to his natural changeling form if he dies.

Robe of Eyes Kain wears a robe adorned with eyelike patterns. While wearing the robe, he gains the following benefits: The robe lets Kain see in all directions, and grants advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight. He has darkvision out to a range of 120 feet. Kain can see invisible creatures and objects, as well as see into the Ethereal Plane, out to a range of 120 feet. A light spell cast on the robe or a daylight spell cast within 5 feet of the robe blinds Kain for 1 minute. At the end of each of his turns, Kain can make a Constitution saving throw (DC 11 for light or DC 15 for daylight), ending the blindness on a success.

Dagger of Warning This dagger is magically attuned to Kain, granting him advantage on initiative rolls. Creatures friendly to Kain within 30 feet of him cannot be surprised so long as he has the dagger. The weapon magically awakens Kain and any companions within range if they are sleeping naturally when combat begins.

Belt of Asa This slate-tone electrum belt, set in its front with a simple design, gives Kain a strenght score of 21. If separated from the belt, Kain's strength score drops to 8.


Actions

Multiattack Kain makes two dagger attacks

Dagger Melee Weapon attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 5 (1d4+2) Piercing damage.

The Third Eye Kain can use his action to increase his powers of perception. When he does so, Kain my choose one of the following benefits, which end if Kain is incapacitated.

  • Darkvision. Kain gains darkvision out to a range of 60 feet.
  • Ethereal Sight. Kain can see into the Ethereal Plane within 60 feet of him.
  • Greater Comprehension. Kain can read any language.
  • See Invisibility. Kain can see invisible creatures and objects within 10 feet of him that are within line of sight.

Reactions

Defensive Duelist When hit by a melee attack and wielding his daggers, Kain can add his proficiency bonus to his AC for that attack, potentially causing the attack to miss.

Unsettling Visage (1/day) When a creature Kain can see makes an attack roll against him, he can impose disadvantage on the attack roll. This reveals his shapeshifter nature to any creature within 30 feet that can see him.


 

Legendary Actions

Portent (3/day) Roll three d20s and record the numbers rolled. Kain can replace any attack roll, saving throw, or ability check made by him or a creature that he can see with one of these foretelling rolls.
