2-level Evocation

A beam 30 feet long and 5 feet wide emits from you across the ground. Creatures in this area must make a dexterity saving throw. On a failure they take 3d8 cold damage or half as much on a success. A layer of ice covers the ground with the length and width of the initial beam. The ice can extend into open space with nothing underneath as long as the caster is on solid ground when casting the spell. The ice can support two medium or smaller creatures when unsupported in this way.
At higher levels: When you cast this spell with a spell slot 3rd level or higher the length of the beam increases by 10 feet and deals an additional 1d8 cold damage for every level above 2nd.
