The Traveler's Guide to Aellorah
5-level Necromancy
Ritual - does not require spell slot, takes 10 minutes longerBy performing this ritual, you enter into a magical contract with a willing participant. By mixing your blood with the target creature's and writing out a contract on quality vellum, you can create a binding agreement between you. The Soulbinder can offer an exchange with the target and agree upon terms for the exchange. The exchange is usually the target receiving some service or boon from the Soulbinder is exchange for something -- up to and including their soul. Once bound, the Soulbinder and the target must abide by the terms of the contract.
If the Soulbinder breaks the agreement, they are subject to a painful magical rebuke. The Soulbinder must make a Constitution saving throw against their own spell save DC. On a failed save, the Soulbinder takes 6d10 necrotic damage, overcoming resistances. On a successful save, the Soulbinder takes half damage.
The Soulbinder can choose two options for consequences if the target breaks the agreement. They can either subject them to the same magical rebuke as they are beholden to, or they can immediately Soulbind the target. If the Soulbinder's ability check is successful, they remove the target's soul, killing them, and trapping their soul in one of their Soulstones. If they fail their ability check, the target is subject to the magical rebuke, but only dealing 2d10 damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one.
This spell can only be cast as a ritual.
