You fire a brilliant blue ray at a single creature or object within range. Make a ranged spell attack. If you hit, you charge the target with an intensely powerful magical magnetic force. You can only affect objects or creatures made out of metal or creatures wearing or carrying metal armor, weapons, or gear.
The magical magnetism created by this spell creates a zone of attraction with a radius of 30 feet around the creature or object. Every metallic object entering the zone of attraction is pulled towards the magnetized object. Every round metal creatures or objects are within this zone of attraction, they must make a Strength check with a DC of 10 + your proficiency bonus + your spellcasting ability modifier. On a failure, a creature or object is pulled 10 feet towards the attracted object, or an additional 5 feet if it failed the check by 5 or more.
Creatures carrying or holding metal objects may choose to release them, in which case the items fly to the creature or object at the center, or hold onto them, in which case they are also treated as metal creatures. Unattended metal objects of 50 pounds or less in the zone of attraction fly with great force and strike the target creature or object at the center, dealing 2d6 bludgeoning damage for each object. Objects heavier than 50 pounds are simply dragged 10 feet closer per round.
Metal creatures or objects that reach the magnetized target of this spell become stuck and are considered to be grappled, and creatures can attempt to get out of the grapple by making a Strength check contested by an ability check with your spellcasting ability modifier.
If a creature or object at least twice as heavy as the target of this spell moves into the zone of attraction, the target you chose is dragged to it instead, and the new object is the new center zone of magnetism.
