class features:
Abyssal Pact:
You have forged a forbidden pact with an entity from the abyss. This entity grants you dark powers in exchange for your allegiance. Choose a damage type (e.g., fire, necrotic, poison). Your spells and abilities deal this type of damage.
Dark Rituals:
You can perform dark rituals during a short rest, allowing you to regain expended spell slots. The level of the spell slot regained depends on the time spent in the ritual.
Forbidden Spells:
At 2nd level, you gain access to forbidden spells that tap into the essence of the abyss. Choose three spells from any class's spell list (Base DND 5e, unless clarified with DM). These spells are considered occultist spells for you.
Forbidden Knowledge:
At 3rd level, you gain proficiency in two skills of your choice from the following list: Arcana, History, Insight, Investigation, Medicine, Nature, and Religion.
Abyssal Resilience:
At 6th level, you gain advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Forbidden Casting:
At 7th level, you can cast one spell from your forbidden spells without expending a spell slot once per short rest.
Arcane Siphon:
At 11th level, when you successfully hit a creature with a spell, you can choose to drain a portion of its life force. Roll a number of d6s equal to the spell's level, and you regain hit points equal to the total.
Forbidden Mastery:
At 15th level, you gain advantage on saving throws against spells and magical effects. Additionally, when you cast a spell from your forbidden spells, its range is doubled.
Soulweaving:
Starting at 10th level, you gain the ability to manipulate the souls of creatures. When you reduce a creature to 0 hit points, you can choose to capture its soul. You can hold a number of souls equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1). You can expend a soul to regain a spell slot during a short rest.
Forbidden Caster:
At 14th level, you can cast one of your chosen forbidden spells without expending a spell slot once per long rest.
Abyssal Ascendance:
At 18th level, you become a vessel of abyssal power. Once per long rest, you can transform into an abyssal form for 1 minute. During this time, you gain resistance to all damage, and your spells and abilities deal additional damage of your chosen type.
subclass options:
Subclass 1: Soulweaver
Soul Leech:
At 3rd level, your spells become more potent when you use the captured souls. When you expend a captured soul to regain a spell slot, the next spell you cast within the next minute deals additional damage equal to your Charisma modifier.
Soul Bond:
At 7th level, you can forge a soul bond with a willing creature. You and the bonded creature can communicate telepathically within a range of 30 feet. Additionally, as an action, you can share the effects of a spell you cast with the bonded creature if it is within 30 feet of you.
Soul Harvest:
At 11th level, you can extract additional benefits from the captured souls. When you expend a captured soul to regain a spell slot, you also gain temporary hit points equal to your Charisma modifier.
Soulweaver's Embrace:
At 15th level, you can use your action to summon the spirits of the captured souls around you. For 1 minute, you and your allies within 30 feet gain advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Subclass 2: Abyssal Inquisitor
Inquisitorial Focus:
At 3rd level, you gain proficiency with Investigation and Insight. If you already have proficiency in either skill, you can choose another skill from the class list.
Forbidden Inquisition:
At 7th level, you can use your action to focus your inquisitorial powers on a creature you can see within 60 feet. For 1 minute, you have advantage on attack rolls against that creature, and it has disadvantage on saving throws against your spells.
Soul Scrutiny:
At 11th level, you gain the ability to scrutinize the souls of creatures. As an action, you can learn one piece of information about a creature you can see within 30 feet, such as its current emotional state, its creature type, or one damage type it is resistant or immune to.
Inquisitorial Presence:
At 15th level, your presence instills fear and uncertainty in your enemies. When you cast a spell, creatures within 10 feet of you must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier) or be frightened until the start of your next turn.
