Napalm Goo: (Recharge 5-6) As an action, The Gargantuan Fire Beetle can eject some of the glowing fluid from its sacs in a 15 foot cone in front of it. This glowing goo ignites on contact with the air and will burn for 1d8 rounds. The substance is sticky like glue and will stick to every surface it comes into contact with. Anyone caught in the blast needs to make a Dexterity save (DC:15) or be covered in the substance, taking 1d6 fire damage and an additional 1d6 fire damage for every round it is still burning. During a players turn, they may attempt to extinguish the fire, but unless it is completely starved of air, it will not go out.   Attempts to extinguish the fire with water will cause the goo to spread out, the glue will detach from the person, but the goo itself will float on top of the water.

Actions

The Beetle can make one of 3 attack actions.   Claw Attacks The Beetle lashes out with its legs making two attacks 1d20+7 dealing 6 (1d6+3) 1d6+3 on a successful hit.   Bite The Beetle bites and attempts to hold the opponent in place. 1d20+7 dealing 7 (1d8+3) 1d8+3 damage and the opponent is grappled if they are small-large sized. Opponents will need to make a Strength save (DC: 15) to release themselves from the grapple.   Napalm goo see special abilities for more information.

Known to some as an Abominabeetle, This is a fire Beetle that has grown much larger than its more common fire beetle cousins. Some believe this is because of changes in the environment, others believe that magic was used to enlarge and enhanced enhance this beast. No longer just a little beetle with glowing sacks on the thorax, This thing can pack a punch.   This beetle can be found in any location that a normal fire beetle can be found, but due to its volatile nature, its lair is usually surrounded by a large burnt out clearing in the forest near where it lives.   The Brave (or stupid) can attempt to hunt these beetles for their carapace and glow sacs as well as attempting to tame them for use as mounts, though unless reared from an egg, this is usually impossible. Some goblinoid clans have started farming these monstrosities as their eggs and larvae can be used as a good source of food, as well as being useable as a labouring beast of burden.   The carapace being almost completely fire proof can be used in the creation of armour or shields, as well as fire proof clothing, but contact with even a light acid can cause the carapace to dissolve quite quickly.   On a successful survival check (DC:20) the Glow sacs can be harvested without damaging or releasing the internal goo. Unlike the fire beetle the outer coverings of the sack is quite soft so it will need to be handled very carefully once harvested. The goo inside can be used for several purposes and will remain viable for 1d12 days after being harvested. If distilled it can be converted into an extremely potent fixative glue. in its raw form it can be used as a fuel source or, if correctly handled, can be used as a once off weapon doing the same damage as the monsters special ability.
