Y'lath Forest is home to many sorts of animals, but most notably to over 400 species of bird. When the god of the sky, Cloya chose to join her fellow gods in raising a species to sentience, she decided upon a small species which was previously one of the most hunted. The Mo'a built houses, first in the trees, up high, far from the predators who used to (and some that still do) hunt them. Later, they developed a style of building which mimicked the general appearance of coniferous trees, blending in near-perfectly with their surroundings. They lived this way, in tune with their god for centuries before one of their fishing boats from Ca'ban (not yet a port at the time), caught sight of a distant coastline to the south through a looking glass. They spent the next decade working and reworking their watercraft until they produced a ship large enough and capable enough to get a scouting party to the coast of what they discovered to be Rozchul. Thus, despite the fact that the Ravkin were much closer, to the north and across the Endless River, the first other sentient species they encountered were the Humans and Sarsostra. As time went on, the Mo'a spread across both Ymfang and Rozhchul, but still held tight their traditions and practices. While they have integrated into city life, they still tend to build homes and even commercial and industrial buildings in a somewhat traditional manner.
