Escaped at 14, Born in Kregalla, brought to Archeon Island at 1 year old, growing up with parents already forced into slavery building and working the island. Grew up on Archeon, brought onto a Kregalla Privateer Vessel as a cabin boy at 8 and grew up working on the ship. While Patrolling the Orailion Strait, the ship was struck by a storm, Charles was washed overboard, he swam to a nearby sandbar where he managed to hang on through the worst of the storm. In the morning he saw the sails of a ship. By luck the ship sailed between the shoals close to him, where he was able to get noticed and rescued by a the Merchant Vessel Woetide, operated by an unaffiliated Halion Captain
