One of our most sacred traditions. Zealots and practitioners alike will undergo this ritual to move from initiate to neophyte. While both initiates and neophytes are both in our coven's first degree, initiates are in the introduction phase of joining. When a member of the coven of the second degree or higher recruits someone, it is their duty to teach, train and prepare them for the Ritual of Commitment.
When a summon is given, the ritual will undergo multiple stages of commitment. The first will be the act of the joining of blood. Combining the blood of the initiate and their mentor then ground inside a mortar with the flower of the purple lotus.
Upon the joining of blood with the lotus flower, the mentor will apply some of it to the initiate's forehead. The mentor will then put the remaining mix into the fire, chanting an incantation:
"Nu rilmi zo aukotis iv kraujas sulig tave grizti ir tave grizti. Nu visita kia tave tnika kia pazinti." (Translation: I bring forth a sacrifice of blood from the joiner and the joined. I call to the flame to recognize.)
The final act will be for the initiate to swear an oath to uphold the practices they have been taught by their mentor, continue to pursue the path and respect those who also walk the path:
"I swear to uphold the ideals taught to me, the knowledge shared with me, and the acceptance granted to me."
