With an evil smirk Loki gave the spear another tap and the enormous Bi-frost gate behind them began to shudder and flash. Within moments hordes of giants poured out and began attacking the now hysteric crowd. Thor let out a vicious war cry as he activated his Valcare armor and burst towards Loki with intent to kill. Loki dodged his first swing but before Thor could swing his mighty hammer again, he was shoulder bashed by a Jotun and found himself surrounded. As for Baldur, Odin’s only legitimate child, he also activated his exosuit, and grabbed both his parents and flew them far up the great tree to safety.
Thor was battling, Odin was running, but the Aesir people were being slaughtered all around. Most of them were completely defenseless, and those that were equipped to fight, were too drunk to act quick enough. The screams of a terrified people and the roars of bloodthirsty giants filled the air. As for Loki, he would have liked to stay and watch, but he knew their surprise element would wear off soon and he began making his way, escorted by giants, to the other gates so that he could allow reinforcements through.
Once safely in his throne room again, Odin began barking orders to stop that insolent traitor at any costs. Baldur remained with his father, but began contacting every Valcare he could, ordering them to defend their people. But, the response was slow. Loki had coordinated the perfect ambush, and he was about to do it again.
