These often scruffy and clever people are the scavengers and underestimated people that many cities (Especially Human) would never excepts. They live in secrets and co-existing instances, trusting of few and survive as a resource sort. Ratfolk have shown despite living in informally rough conditions, they have proven time and time again they can make even the messy and disgusting places into a liveable home.   ===== Smart and Resourceful At first appearance seeing a Ratfolk, most people would think these Filthy Rats are basically homeless and lack of any culture of their own, but this couldn't be far from the truth. While some are dirty, they are some that manage to remain clean and groomed despite living in swamps and sewers. They are like small humanoid rats in appearance, covered head to toe in fur. Male Ratfolk stand around 2 to 2'2 feet tall and Female are about 1'8 to 2 feet tall. Generally they weigh about 45 to 70 pounds. The coloration of their furs are in wide variety. This can range from black to white or Brown to a Dark navy blue. Ratfolk eyes only come in the color of black, except they're some white fur Ratfolk that do have red eyes, but this trait is very rare. While these people often face issues finding armor and weapons there size, clothes is rarely an issue. Most Ratfolk learn to use what they can and try just about whatever would work.   =====Life Expanded The life of a Ratfolk is a short one, often serve for the good of their colony. Ratfolk reach adulthood at 12 and live only a brief 50 years. Ratfolk lean since the day they can walk and speak, all they may need to know to survive. This in turn also introduce lessons of rewards for hard work. A lesson that a Ratfolk would use to further an improved living situation for the colony. It is this mentality that also grows into curiosity. Most Ratfolk are however, resourceful and rather use sense then force. They see the world as a place far bigger then mostly races, and with that they must adjust the world to them. Ratfolk are always looking for a solution to a problem, taking it with caution. They take work very seriously and view down time as a rare event. Do to their up bringing, they are slow to trust friends and rarely dropping their guard. They can be very vindictive, especially to sworn enemies. In everything choice from sparing an foe to plan the party tactics, Ratfolk always want to make an suggestion. Even if a Ratfolks opinion isn't the Party's final decision, Ralfolk are quick to readjusting to whatever is the decision. However, depending on what it is, if the choice lead to a dire situation, it is beneath Ratfolk to simply give the rest an I-told-you-so.   =====The Rats of Ambition A Pack of Rat may sound unimpressive at first, but during the test of time, they accomplish much for themselves, even if it isn't know. The live like a village as it claims a swamp or sewer as their home. Adjusting to the terrain, Ratfolk have may a culture that is fitting to these people. As a Religion, Ratfolk normally worship the Goddess Frontistís, who is depicted in their culture as either a Human or a Ratfolk sitting on a throne of Rats. In ways of crafts, Ratfolk tends more to sewing and Repair things that are broken. This mostly entails over the fact that they repurpose object of larger races for whenever they need at the time. In their youth, they lean how to sew and tinker since to day they are able to walk. Things they often repurpose are things like a pair of socks made into a pants or make a fire starter out of glasses. Ratfolk that live in swamp lands are more deprived then a sewer dwelling Ratfolk but this behaviour of scavenging isn't no different. Mainly, instead of scraps of metal, fabric, and whatever else they have in hand. Swamp dwelling Ratfolk do the same but instead of these type of resources, they salvage things like bones, fungus, and when times are very tough, they rob whole tribes of Lizardfolk only to disappear. Another noted fact of Ratfolk is that they love stories, especially books. Many Ratfolk scout tend journey into libraries, barrow a book, and return it before the owner notice.   =====Going out and living It is very rare for a Ratfolk to seek adventure and quest. Normally this as a result from either seeking a better living for his village or out of an over whelming curiosity. Regardless of which in most cases, when one Ratfolk intended one, they have a little of the other. Of course if any of these small rodent folk manage to return home alive, they're is a good chance the village will see him/her as a folk hero.   =====Point of Views of other races After heading out to the world, Ratfolks normally see everything as new and exciting at first. However, soon a Ratfolk wouldn't view one person on their Race. Instead, it's base on one's action that a Ratfolk may judge one. They view all, including party members with interest but caution.   =====Ratfolk names Ratfolk names are a personal thing to them. When they are born. They receive a Birth name first, this name lasts until the child grows into adulthood. Upon reaching adulthood, the Village Priest or someone of high Religion authority bless removes their birth name and bestow to names. A Public name, which is for the world and a True name which is only to be known by family and trusted friends. The Public Name is name any object one can find, like Rake, Buttons, or Rope.   Common True Name: Peechapir, Quini, Creek, Bre, Muk, Salt, Ruerue, Vix, Maki, Loou, and Drell.  

  • Age: Ratfolk are a short lived race. They be lucky to live pass 50 years.
  • Alignment: Most Ratfolk live free and follow more politeness rather than lawful. They perfer to think of this as more of tridition. Lawful Ratfolk are very few and just as rare are Evil Ratfolk. These Evil Ratfolk few live more as self loathing and bitter from hardships with the need to have others suffer in their stead.
  • Size: Ratfolk are a Small size creature. They stand around 2 feet tall.
  • Speed: Despite being small, Ratfolk are quick for their size. Their base movement speed is 30ft.
  • Darkvision: As a Ratfolk, you have superior vision in the dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of grey.
  • Craftsmanship: You roll with advantage when crafting objects.
  • +++++ Bog Rat The Ratfolk of swamplands is a rare occasion. Most dwell under cities but they are some villages of Ratfolk whom made this harsh land home. This is normally a result of being scare out by the city's citizens or the lack of resources. Bog Rats normally seek life as nomads and hunter.   Bog Walker: Bog Rats are natural adept to traveling their of Swamp. All movement you make in a harsh swamp terrain is normal.   +++++Sewer Dweller The most largest of the Ratfolk population. Sewer Dwellers are the ratfolk that live for generations under a city, co-existing with the city's local without l them even know these Ratfolks' residences. Thank to their under living, these Ratfolk make well use of the Dark.   Filth Tolerance: After livings many years under the society yours resides in, you had grown a resilience to it. You gain advantage on DCs against Nausea and Disease.   Scurry Rodents: You lived your early years relying on moving quick and quietly. You increase your base speed by 10 feet and now add +2 to your stealth checks.
