The Wizard's Whimstone is a smooth, palm-sized stone inscribed with shifting, intricate glyphs. Each dawn, the glyphs change and the stone randomly selects a new cantrip from its internal list. The stone's glyphs emit a faint glow, the color of which corresponds to the nature of the cantrip it currently holds.

As an action, the holder can activate the stone to cast the cantrip it currently contains. The user must trace the glyphs while speaking the command word, which can be learned through successful identification of the item.
