Uncommon Alteration

The Gem of Taliba Yor is a cloudy red crystal octahedron with a squishy texture and slight metalic smell.

When the gem touches a bladed weapon, the Gem liquifies and is absorbed into the weapon. This changed the weapons damage die into the Gem's and it grants the gem 1 charge (3 Maximum). With a Charge the gem WILL cast Dissonant Whispers when a weapon it is infused into deals damage. In order to control the Gem's casting one must commune with the soul of Taliba Yor, resulting in a wisdom check (DC 15) to control Yor's maddened ego into submission. In order to remove the Gem from a weapon, one need to simply damage the weapon significantly in some way, shape, or form. The Gem will then leak out of the damaged locations and reform into its base Gem form. If the Gem touches a bladed weapon already possessing magical powers, it will destroy existing powers to place itself upon the blade. If the Gem attempts to destroy a stronger magic (Rare+) it is instead destroyed, freeing Taliban Yor from his torment.

Taliba Yor was a mage of little talent growing up in the countryside of the kingdom he resided in. As Taliba Yor came of age his ambitions grew outside of the little community of magic that resided in the countryside, not skilled and talented nor strong and willed enough in the ruthless magical landscape of the capital and the larger cities. Believing himself superior than these washed up lesser mages he ventured into the capital city, where he was ruthlesly humbled by mages half his age and twice as competent. Rather than seek to improve or give up and return he turned to wicked sources to gain the power and renown he craved, ultimately finding a Grimoire on contracting a Fiend to harness it's powers. Little did he know that the price of such a deals vastly outweighed the powers he would recieve. As he forcefully bound the Fiend's powers to him through the grimoire, he completed the Fiend's, an Eater of Hope, contract that was disguised as a spell in the first place. In exchange for a shortened life of power and wealth his soul would belong to the creature, and once his life burned out the Fiend would experiment on it to create a treasure to lure the hopes and dreams of man into his clutchs. Despite the Fiends power and ambition, he ultimatley failed and in the process accidentally made Taliba Yor's Soul into a Gem, forever warping Yor's etheral body into an unnatural shape resulting in torment for eternity.
