Quicksilver Snails reflect with a mirrorlike finish of liquid silver that covers them. In fact, the shine on its shell is only surface deep, the shell is chitinous. The fleshy body, however, is entirely composed of quicksilver congealed magically together into a moving creature. These normally reclusive snails are difficult to find in their treetop homes. But in the rare occurance that you get to witness their mating dance, hanging by threads of silver saliva in the late night moonlight, it is poetry in motion.
