The Inksea Escape Boat can be powered by expending a spell slot of 1st level or higher as a bonus action. The boat gains 120 feet of movement for each level of the expended spell slot, and this magical propulsion lasts for 20 minutes. At the end of the duration or when the spell slot is exhausted, the boat returns to its normal speed.   Row. The boat can be rowed manually by the passengers, providing a speed of 30 feet per round. However, this method is not as fast or efficient as the magical propulsion.

Inksea Escape Boats are specially designed rowboats created for one purpose: to outrun the massive Inksea Leviathans that haunt the Ink Sea. These boats are powered by a unique magical propulsion system that consumes spell slots to provide incredible bursts of speed, making them faster than the pursuing creatures.

Typically carrying a crew of eight people, these boats are equipped with enough seats and provisions to support those attempting to escape the sea monsters. However, the magical propulsion system is not without its limitations. It requires the expenditure of spell slots, which means that the boats cannot be used for long-distance travel. Instead, they are kept on standby for emergency situations, allowing passengers to flee from danger with great haste.

The invention of the Inksea Escape Boats is a testament to the ingenuity and resourcefulness of the people living near the treacherous Ink Sea. In a world where the colossal Inksea Leviathans posed a constant threat to sailors and travelers on the Ink Sea, a group of skilled artificers and mages joined forces to find a solution.

The project began with the idea of creating a vessel that could outrun the immense creatures that patrolled the Ink Sea's depths. These creatures were known to be attracted to disturbances in the water, and any conventional boat would be quickly overtaken and destroyed if it ventured too close to one of these leviathans. To counter this threat, the artificers devised a magical propulsion system that could provide short bursts of incredible speed. By harnessing the power of expended spell slots, they created a mechanism that could drive a rowboat forward with astonishing velocity. This innovative system allowed the boats to move faster than the pursuing leviathans for a limited time.

The boats themselves were designed to be lightweight and agile, with just enough space to accommodate a crew of eight individuals. They were equipped with comfortable seating, provisions, and oars for manual rowing in case the magical propulsion system failed.

As the design evolved, the boats were put to the test in numerous trials and simulations, and they proved to be a lifeline in the face of danger. They allowed travelers and adventurers to venture onto the Ink Sea with a newfound sense of security, knowing they had a means of escape from the relentless pursuit of the Inksea Leviathans.
