On his back was strapped his most wondrous piece though. Its beauty was only surpassed by its power. A sword given to him, or more precisely, given to Värkûräel, by the survivors of the dragon clan, crafted of the most potent, ancient magic…dragon magic, along with a metal found only on the inner mountains of the dragon marshes, and finally forged with the powerful, magically laden fire breathed from all of the clan. It was constantly handed down from one old soul to the next. Sometimes centuries passed before the next old soul was old enough to claim it.
Its sheath was a simple, shape fitted, hard black leather sheath, as the original had been lost a century before. The hilt was carved out of an old dragon’s little toe, akin to the shape of an hourglass. The pommel sported a crystallized dragon’s eye, reddish gold in hue, encased in a clear orb. The eye was sentient; being the eye of the most powerful dragon Värkuräel had killed. The dragon clan had indentured the eye into servitude of the sword, watching everything, acting as second eyes to the swords wielder. It was constantly moving, assessing every potential threat or danger, always in a mental link with its wielder. Its hand guard was nothing short of spectacular, and impossible to recreate. Four small dragons, green, blue, red and gold, were seated in a circle, holding each other’s paws, claws intertwined, spewing flames of their respective colors, which then formed the long, sleek multicolored blade, creating a gap whose width was of about three fingers between the top of the hilt and where the blade actually began. In essence, the blade was not connected to the hilt, but merely fashioned right from the multicolored flames, the tip of the blade ending in a curved tip to look like fire.
