The Morgan Arms A-15 platform is lightweight, cheap, accurate, and pretty ubiquitous. It has an ambidextrous charging handle, and has a recoil buffer tube inside the stock. The unmodified variant used a direct impingement gas system which was more prone to stoppages than other platforms in dusty conditions so alternative gas systems were sought out. An improved gas system reduces the likelihood of a critical jam in a combat situation.
