Vespid

The vespid race is made of humanoids that are covered in a chitin-like material, and that have wings that allow them to be a valuable asset on the battlefield. Fighting alongside the Tau in auxiliary, scout, and skirmishing units, the vespids are one of the main advantages that allow the Tau to combat the Space Marines in combat due to their flanking prowess and high mobility. The Imperials know vespids as “stingwings.” Vespids have three eyes on their head, and their mouths are an arrangement of mandibles and razor-like protrusions. Vespids form groups known as Strains, and are highly sought after as mercenaries and in the Tau military.
