— Instructor of Recruits
For thousands of years, you could be the king of the most powerful empire in the world if you showed up with a shiny sword! What the Hells kind of system of government is that!
— Sgt. Kill Flayer

The last of a set of five. The Tridenser swords were Holy Avengers carved or forged from a precious stone or metal. Traditionally the five tridensers were: Gold, Silver, Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald. The Five Tridensers emblem is the symbol of The Church of Anam, the Sovranty of Lozar, The Order of Tridensers, and is iconic on clothing and jewelry throughout Sovranty and Concordant lands.

History

Anam

The Tridenser swords were originally the weapons of the god Anam. The Ruby was his third Tridenser. He had previously gifted the Gold to his chief solar and lost the Silver while visiting the mortal plane.

King Amaston the Red

Amaston the Red was the first paladin. When he called on Anam in a time of great need he was gifted with the power to call on divine power in battle. When the king of Lozar died without an heir, Anam declared that the next king would prove themselves worthy by being able to bear his personal weapon in combat.

The Ruby Tridenser appeared in the center of the city of Kirinal. Every show off and would be king in town attempted to lift it, but all failed. Eventually, with a prayer to his patron, Amaston bore the sword aloft and was proclaimed the new King of Lozar.

St. F'tor

The most famous wielder of the Ruby Tridenser was St. F'Tor. The Tridenser Saints became synonymous with their weapons. References in history to the Ruby Tridenser are just as likely to be about F'Tor as they are the sword.

Originally the son of a fisherman, this paladin rose in prominence and earned the right to bear the Ruby Tridenser after defeating a chimera.

As one of the Eternal Paladins, he lived for more than a thousand years, sustained by the magic of the Tridenser and ushering in the Pax Lozaria with the other Five Tridensers.

He died in the Disintegration of Kirinal and was raised to demi-godhood as a Saint of Anam. The original Tridensers were believed to have been lost in the destruction.

King Borland

Sir Borland ended the Lozarian Succession Wars by appearing in Kirinal, somehow bearing the original Ruby Tridenser. He died nine years into his reign on a patrol in the north, his body was stripped of all valuables, including the King Sword.

The Last Tridenser King

The last Tridenser King, Adinet Avaloni, abdicated his throne to usher in the Sovranty. He believed in the end of the old ways. Patriarchy, kings, and unquestioning loyalty to the gods should come to an end. He returned the Ruby Tridenser to the Church of Anam and retired to his family's lands in The Royal Duchy of Taristrae.
