Red Feather Battlemaster

The Red Feather Battlemancers are an elite force of mages who combine flight with overwhelming firepower. Based in Chagroth's Tower, their leader is the Commander of both the Tower and the whole of the Eldritch Army.

The Battlemaster serves at the pleasure of the Navigator of Worlds and he usually allows them to serve until the end of their commission. A few Battlemasters have served even after their death. None of them have ever been forced to resign.

As the Commander of the Tower, the Battlemaster is the de facto leader of all of the Kirinal Defenders. Although the Commanders of the other Fortresses around the Kirinal Pit are technically equal in rank, the Battlemaster is the protector of the Orrery of Worlds.

The first Battlemaster was Callisto Redwing, the second wife of Chagroth Durinhelm. She died in the Night of Black Feathers and the Red Feathers were defunct for decades afterwards.

The second Battlemaster Melosa Red Feather took up Callisto's blade and reformed the order of battle mages. She eventually ascended beyond the Crystal Sphere but left behind a successor and a strong organization that continues their legacy to this day.
