Definitely not grave robbery.
Click-! And in we go.
Here comes a rookie, not entirely helpless- but still a rookie. Breaking and entering into a decrepit tomb in the caves of Zeboli. A terrible idea, really. But who's going to stop a rookie? an expert? The rookie wouldn't listen even if told that it was a horrible choice.
The entrance door of the old place had slowly moved away, now providing access to those who wished to enter or exit, at least if one were to shimmy just a bit.
And from behind the door, a little glowing ball had been rolled in to illuminate and dispel the darkness. The lack of alertness or noise within gave our rookie the assumption that all was clear, and so... she began shimmying on in.
Meet Beatrix, she's our rookie for today and she looks quite excited at what she's discovered in this old looking abandoned site! You can tell she's excited because her long pointed ears keep wiggling in nervous anticipation. First her head pops in, and then the rest of her follows suit. Creeping carefully to make sure not a sound was made by her steps, yet they sounded in any event. She was not the sneaky type.
Many dust particles floated around the now disturbed crypt, present and seen by the illumination of Beatrix's ball of light that was still rolling on the floor. The elf sneezed once too much dust had bothered her and she quickly clamped a hand over her mouth in order to make up for the loud burst of noise, ears flicking wildly in response too.
"Mask... Mask... Shoulda put on the mask first- shoot." She riffled through her bag in search of whatever mask she was looking for. And the best solution was an incredibly yellow bandana that was neatly folded. "It'll do." She'd mused to herself, now wrapping this bandana around her face to cover her mouth and nose. Then, with graceless motion, swept the bright orb off the ground and held it for vision.
This room of the crypt was rather small, and whilst the design of the walls or the material of the build would have been interesting enough to Bea. However, she had greater plans in mind. It involved gathering a few ancient relics and trinkets from the crypt. Of course, she wasn't too keen on going at first.. at least until she was swayed with promise of these objects holding much historical significance. That's what got her on board with this.
The issue was... this room had none of what she was promised, but behold! Yet another passageway led deeper into the crypt. This must have just been the antechamber! Oh, silly Bea. Of course you made the rookie mistake of thinking that a crypt wouldn't have some kind of antechamber... for... what would it be for? Guests? The dead didn't need guests of the living kind! What good would that do?
Eh, just a thought though. Our Siemite Rookie was too busy humming a haulers' tune to which she couldn't remember the words. It had something about venturing, plus it was catchy. And so she ventured onward, deeper into the old place. Thank Siem for the light though, it was eerily dark outside its influence and that gave Bea a chilly creep. Like a shiver down her spine, where it tingled all the ticklish locations. Each step she took loudly crunched, what was even so crunchy to begin with? Most likely loose rocks... what else would it be?
Whatever the light did reveal was walls of a hallway with the occasional doorway into a side-room. "This must be a very fancy crypt- wow!" She'd peer into every doorway, mostly to be met by decorative... bones. Yes, many bones of sorts. Bones set upon stone shelving, it was all quite orderly, they must have had sophisticated burial rites here! Being so curious, Bea had finally entered a room that she picked solely on a hunch. Her hunch had been surprisingly spot on this time. The orb in her hand had been rolled forward to reveal a perfectly kept whole skeleton, laying in a splendid holder for it. Then all was dark, the light had gone out. Whoops.
"Eep!" it was the worst time for the lights to go out, and Bea was shakily trying to reactivate the orb. Which involved her wildly flailing the arm that held it. Till she poured some more mana back into it to reignite the light.
ah, that was better. She could see again. Ah! And how fortunate! There were a few shelves that held a handful of enticing looking artifacts. So Bea brought out the... portable hole so she could store some of these artifacts, just a whole bunch of careful placement of antiques in the storage unit. Until there were none left on the shelf, and then there was the matter of the skeleton. It was an incredible specimen, really. It even had a rather large mana crystal just kept in the skeleton's chest area. Within the ribs, of course. A stone, a full stone sized mana crystal, she'd just stick her hands right in there to pry the valuable rock out. Though she was met with a challenge of resistance, the object refused to budge from its rightful place, so she pulled harder, added more strength and leverage to her pull. It felt like it was working- felt like there was something moving. Yes! It was wo-
It wasn't, her hand had merely slipped from grasping the rock and she barreled backwards from the force of having pulled with such effort. Now stunned, she lay on the floor looking up at the darkness. Her ears twitched with a twinge of frustration, she wasn't about to be defeated by a mere magical stone. Quickly, she had scampered back onto her two feet and stamped over to the skeleton yet again.
"I need this for studying. Please relinquish it immediately!" Once more, hand on stone and pulling with great effort. There were many... unethical noises made that shall be marked off as strenuous effort alongside a bunch of grumbling and something on the verge of screaming.
PULL!
One....
PULLLL!!!!!
Two.
AAAAAAAAAAAA-
Three! Crrkak! "AH!"
The stone had finally come loose from the Skeleton's body. This time, Beatrix had been more prepared, though she forgot to account for the ribs that had been torn free as well. Of course she screamed, why wouldn't she? She was being assaulted by the ribs of this completely inanimate skeleton! How dare they attack her like this!
...
Well... at least she had the mana crystal taking up the space of her hand hand now. It was a vibrant forest green... green...ish? Whatever, it's hard to tell color in the dark!
"Finally... phew... you were the toughest one to get out of these things." She chimed gleefully at what she'd call the greatest find of the bunch. This was good, she thought it was probably a good haul from what she got. So she turned to make her way for the exit.
