The Thayan Problem: The Machinations of Szass Tamm
-After many hours of research, and through an in-depth conversation revolving around the greater movements of the forces arraigned against you: A crucial piece of information comes falling into your lap
1) 180 years ago, a floundering business that most historians consider to be a victim of foul play files for bankruptcy.
2) A wealthy up and coming Zulkir of Necromancy, one Szass Tamm purchases the company for a steal. And brands it "The Eastern Winds Trading Company" as it was registered to sail forth from the port of Nethentir, with the scorching winds of the Thaymount at it's back sails.
3) In the following century or so, Szass Tamm grew in power and influence among his fellows in the Thayan high society. After several failed attempts to usurp him of his title as Zulkir of Necromancy, Szass methodically wiped his competition from the face of Faerun. There are so few left who can stand in his way now, and he begins to slowly expand his influence it would seem.
4) Clues discovered outside of Baldur's Gate by Lo-Kang prove the involvement of the E.W.T.C. in the disaster that took place there. Along with every other time the E.W.T.C. has conveniently been right where they needed to be in order to supply the efforts against The Five...well. That speaks volumes, doesn't it?
